Dale needs to get more of the ball. Webb also quiet.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Dale putting his hand up. Some pace and finishing skills would suit the seniors nicely.

Jong played outside wing most of the day , came on and off a lot it seemed, looked like he was managed today.
Lipinski must be so close to getting a shot.
Dickson didn’t get a lot but chased and pressured well.
Schache looked good but my god he missed such an easy goal that would have sealed it a lot earlier , can’t figure how he managed to completely miss from around 5 metres out.
Dale is above this level , should be our attacking wing in AFL.

Re: Round 7 – Footscray Bulldogs v Werribee

Some quick thoughts from today's game (in addition to what Ledge has posted above)

Le Young playing as well as he was in 2107 before his AFL debut against Carlton. Giving him stints in the ruck has boosted his confidence. Starting to go for marks again in the backline (versus jut going for the punch each time)

Roarke played a fairly good game as wing/pressure half forward. Like a few players, he went missing for a bit in the middle of the game, but overall he would be happy with his game.

Bailey Williams got a lot of the ball playing as a sweeper across half back (his usual role)

Drummond didn't look too bad up forward and had a run in the midfield.

Gardener played mostly back (in absence of Roberts) and I thought his stint in the ruck in the last qtr was telling when we got a bit of a run on.

Sweet ran under the ball a few times - run will do him good after missing 4 weeks (suspension).

Lynch didn't do enough earlier in the game when we were under the pump for my liking - he did get it a bit in the last when we got a run on however.

Porter got to play more midfield this week in West's absence and seemed to enjoy that role better than half fwd where he has been stationed most of the year. Agree with others that he probably doesn't offer much other than 'in/under' midfield depth at present.

I thought Vandermeer was one to watch....he attacks the ball and tackles well enough (he is not a big boy) and when he gets the ball, he skates away. I think he offers something different from the rest of the AFL listed players in the VFL who tend to be a little one paced (excepting maybe Dale on today's performance).

Lipper had a strong game as did Dale (as Ledge mentions above) and after this afternoon's AFL loss to the Cats, I would think the MC would be ready to swing a couple of changes.

Not sure where Webb was after half time. Didn't see him in the 3/4 time huddle or on the bench - maybe he was sent down to Geelong as an added emergency (although not named...?)

I think Schache might be some way off getting an AFL recall - confidence looked shattered after missing easy goal in the last that would have put game out of Werribee's reach.

Buku Khamis and Dickson had serviceable games along with Rueben William.
There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist.
