Totally agree about Vandermeer-an excitement machine in the making and appears to be pretty tough/not afraid to put body on the line.
What happened to West in the second half as he only had 5 disposals.

      Report

A three-goal haul from Tory Dickson has granted the Footscray Bulldogs with a 19-point victory over North Melbourne on Saturday night at VU Whitten Oval.

In slippery conditions, the ‘Scray started slow, before a five goal second term saw the home side take a 10-point lead into the main break. A dominant fourth quarter performance saw the Bulldogs broaden the margin the 19-points, ultimately sealing the win.

Developing midfielder Callum Porter enjoyed a stand-out game, laying eight tackles and booting two goals, while Lukas Webb continued his impressive VFL form, collecting 24 disposals, three tackles and a goal.

Rhylee West was influential in the engine room, collecting 19 disposals and six tackles, alongside Will Hayes who gathered 21 disposals, three tackles and two inside 50’s.

Playing all over the ground, Lewis Young enjoyed a solid performance, booting one goal and getting the upper hand on 30 hit outs, while Lachie Young shone in defence with six rebound 50’s and seven marks.

Midfielder/forward Fergus Greene made a solid contribution in his first game back from injury with two inside 50’s and two marks.

The Footscray Bulldogs will take on Geelong next Sunday 2nd June at VU Whitten Oval from 2:00pm.

Young Porter seems to be improving which is a good sign for the kid.

Seems a big disconnect with the official stats on VFL. According to those stat Lewis had just 7 possessions with no marks 1 tackle and just 2 hitouts.

Makes it very difficult to trust anything.

Yeah, I just checked the VFL app and you are right. Very strange. I may check another site and see what they have

Edit: This site doesn't shed any light on it.

It effectively has the same stats.
The best players listed there are generally what the club reports. There is no independent verification.

                        Smads said the following:
I think Lewis Young would have been the only option from last night's game to find a senior spot for next week. He played fwd/back and ruck (as the conditions dictated), so could genuinely help out the senior side if they needed another swingman (a la Cordy)

They must be mixing their L. Youngs up.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I thought Lewis Young played well in trying conditions. Hope he can play proactive footy in seniors whilst still being accountable like he seems to in vfl. If I was choosing who to promote I would say West and Le. Young. Tory was very good but I think is now competing for same spot as Lloyd. Cross fingers Greene plays well and is worth a call up soon too.

                            We'll share the joy
                            Just like '54 again.
