I never thought that I'd be going back to Arden street to watch footy. The last time I saw a football match there Chops Rickman towelled up Keith Greig (who never seemed to play well against us) and kicked 7.


I trained at the cricket nets there for a few years though. The afternoon the Carey/Archer/Stevens story broke we were getting ready to train when more and more media just kept flooding into the ground. One of the boys looks up and says "geez, I know this is the first time that we've made the finals for a few seasons but I wasn't expecting this much attention"

Remember that game well
Stood at the shed end and fair to say lots of bulldog fans and made for an old style English soccer style day .
Lots of chanting and very enjoyable as we could never beat them at home

Congrats to Fletch. A story of sticking at it. I've been trying to thinking of anyone whose done 50+ AFL Games, 100+ Reserve Level Games & is a AFL Premiership Player across league history. I think Fletch has them all covered, this is the closest I can find:

Fletch has them covered. Dippa only played 99 and Tuck only 50. Merrett had huge reserves games but no premiership from memory.
