Hard to see the VFL existing. I thought Frankston would be first to fall. It's a damn shame to witness the likely death of the VFA/VFL.

Five days since the demise of the Northern Blues, their president of 13 years, Steve Papal, has heard not a sound from the AFL or VFL, no message of any sort to acknowledge the end of a 138-year-old Victorian football club. That’s more than disappointing. It’s a disgrace.
Unbelievable, AFL has no idea
FFC: Established 1883
Premierships: AFL 1954, 2016 VFA - 1898,99,1900, 1908, 1913, 1919-20, 1923-24, VFL: 2014, 2016 . Champions of Victoria 1924. AFLW - 2018.
I can forgive the AFEL (I feel dirty saying that) with everything they have on their plate, and it's a VFL club. The VFL on the other hand not giving a single *!*!*!*! about a long time club folding. That's a sorry state of affairs.

While it's disappointing and a call should have been made you don't think that because they now have 80% less staff and a whole lot of others things to contend with their resources might be stretched?
Over in SA both Port Adelaide and Centrals who have been powerhouses of the state are busy working on rescue plans themselves
I don't think this is a case of not having an idea. In these exceptional times you can't be everything to everybody

Gill strikes me as being very aware of the impacts football is facing. He's guaranteed the survival of all 18 clubs, including squashing the speculation that North will be relocated, and I think he has steered the ship as well anyone could have given the circumstances.
The game is in a precarious position but I genuinely believe he is doing what he can to ensure the 18 clubs are viable.
There will be some substantial changes for the leagues underneath that and that part isn't clear yet. It's frustrating but I think we have to accept that the other leagues will take a lot more time to be addressed.

Poor old Frankston won't survive. It was the community there that managed to resurrect them last time. They were on a shoe string budget then. You never know I suppose.

Just realized I had already mentioned this. Please ignore.

It all depends on how much debt they are carrying. If they are already operating on a shoestring budget that doesn't have a lot of fat in it then this could be a good thing.
Somehow I doubt it though.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
