Tier 2 in TURMOIL - What is GOING ON???

So, I just read the thread about the VFL and NEAFL merger. And the news about Richmond abandoning their VFLW team (which surely is outside the soft cap in any case)...and the blood-letting at commission level over here continues unabated...I don't really know much about what is happening in SA, but I can't imagine things are all sunshine and roses.

    What is the end-game here?

Can GM or "SOMEONE" please tell the actual footy supporters out there how everything is going to look moving forward. When I read comments like "we don't expect them (NEAFL clubs) to all accept the invitation", you know it means "we don't want everyone, that's why we are doing this".

COVID is a convenient excuse for an awful lot of stuff - but if they would PLEASE just let us know how it is all going to 'look' in the future that would be 100% great and amazing. I might not like it, but at least I might know exactly what to expect.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

If they reveal what they want to end up with, they will invoke a lot of protest.

By announcing change they can expect some drop off (probably clubs) and try to avoid the blame for those that go.

They tend to reveal the end result only when they think there is no alternative. Remember 89.

If they are going to sack anyone look at the MRP and the tribunal members.
Also find someone that comes from another code and give them the law book so they don't play favorites and are consistent in their rulings.

The lower end of the NEAFL won't be happy and one can see a association comp being formed.

Throw local football in with this, the lack of direction and an obvious long term goal is infuriating. The tendency to make decisions on tier 2 football and below without consulting people actually involved is the cause of many issues in my view.

Changes to the TAC as well isn't there?
I think there is now an under 17's and under 19's.

I've heard that the EFL are looking at having under 18s and under 20s next season, instead of their regular under 17s and under 19s (then reverting back for all following years). It is going to be a very different football landscape post-Covid.

It is very frustrating that so many leagues have been adopted as part of brand AFL, but seem to have no direction or ability to make decisions on their own.
