    Colin Dell

This photo was pasted on the "History of the Old Lost Western Suburbs" Facebook Page.
Has to be in any "Top Ten Hangers" compilation IMO.
I remember seeing Colin play. 30 odd First games, captain of the twos at one stage.

Was before my time. What was he like as player?

A bit about him from wikipedia:

Back flanker winger type. From memory I seem to recall another player calling him Ding Dong (Dell)

I see that I dudded him - 66 games from '71 - '77. I was overseas for seasons '73-'75 so did not see a lot of him. He was a solid player but 66 games in seven seasons indicates either he did not cement his place in the team or, was dogged by injury - others may know. I know he was captain of the reserves side so obviously was well thought of as a leader. Played mainly at half back.
I have a feeling he took another huge grab when he was playing in the twos and that this photo was published in the Footscray Mail.

He played in the FDL for West Footscray. I believe he was also nicknamed " Cedal" after a popular brand of soap.

Yes I remember Colin. Wasn't a regular player in the firsts...a bit in and out. A solid contributor though and a high flyer as per the pic.

Not sure if anyone on here knows Colin but I believe the Footscray/Western Bulldogs past players are looking to make contact with him for future reunions and the like.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

My brother sometimes plays golf with him so I could check this if you like.
