I think it’s too early to tell. He’s so raw he could be anything at this stage.

Wally looks to have dropped off a fair bit this year.
I wonder if motivation/passion is still there as he hasn't done too much at a level he should be killing it.
Even when he was in the middle he look out of touch and slow to react he he can't get himself involved we may not see Mitch in the seniors again this season.
Garcia is doing what Mitch should be doing.

He doesn't have the pace or agility of Garcia. I feel for Mitch, he's no chance of getting a gig in the seniors mid line up (without bulk injuries occurring) and he's behind a few as that mid sized forward.

I wouldn't blame him for seeking opportunities elsewhere, perhaps helping a developing side like GC or North would suit him?

Good to see Gardner back an in form. He will be close to senior selection. Khamis continues his impressive development and Butler is close to the mark of being regarded as a senior level player.

Garcia, West and Hayes performed strongly as well

Agree with GVGjr. Garcia in first half especially was scintillating. Hayes very composed & mostly excellent long range laser like kicks. Also agree with some posters about West needing to become a bit less self centred & more team focused. Cavarra was rightly upset in last quarter with West for not passing ball to him for an easy goal. Cavarra played a solid match and at one stage when Dolphins made a mini comeback his grunt work and clever kicks on the wing I thought helped keep opponents at bay.

What role do we think Garcia will play at AFL level?
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

There were quite a few skirmishes throughout the match. If there is a rematch at WO no doubt the sparks will fly.

i think he is a future mid to replace someone like Libba, but that would be a few years off.

Right now, he would slot into the McNeil/Scott/JJ role of pacy, pressure half forward who can move up the ground when required.

Yep, for sure. He really is as made as a young player can be to fill our go to role for the last few spots in the team. He has a good balance of inside/outside and can play forward.

A lot of fans don't get when filling out a side, it is not the best player but the best player for the team.

According to the player, a high half forward.

If we had a spot available on the senior list (and currently we don't) would any of our Footscray listed players be of interest?

I've been really impressed with Boyd but don't know if he fills any need for us.

Glass-McCasker, Boyd, McComb, McPherson, Raak and Preston all wouldn't be out of place on a senior list.
