Gary Buckenara - Mature aged recruits to consider

If we think we are in the premiership window Gary Buckenara has listed some mature age recruits for consideration
I've previous mentioned Charlie Dean and Greg Clark but a mate in the West thinks Blake Schlensog is someone we should consider.

Wasn’t there a bunch of talk of the Cats re-drafting Schlensog? We’ve certified liked 2nd hand Cats talks in the past.

The only ruck on there is younger than Sweet & English so I don't think they would be much help short term
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

I heard that Shane Mumford has nominated for the draft with a view to being taken by GWS in the midseason draft (you have to nominate for the national draft to be eligible for the midseason draft I think) does anyone know if that's right?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

No I don't think that is right. Isn't Paddy McCartin nominating for the pre-season draft only?
Oh you mean mid season draft, yes that is probably right.

That’s the way the story was written. You have to nominate for the national draft to be eligible for the mid season. So he nominates now, spends the season as a coach and if they get a bunch of injuries early next year, they can pick him up mid season if they need ruck reinforcements.

Wasn't Crossley the Gold Coast key forward who debuted against us at Ballarat in 2019? He had a handlebar moustache and looked 39yo instead of 19yo at the time. Didn't he also get a lengthy suspension from the AFL for a drug violation?

Yep - plays hard and was suspended for 12 months due to coke showing up in a test.
Probably the best east-coast based ruck prospect not already tied to an AFL club. He actually showed a bit from the limited AFL viewing I've seen of him.

Listening to Kineer Beatson yesterday they are trying to add McCartin via the pre season supplementary list and get him for free as he has been of an AFL list for more than 12 months. The Swans are checking with the AFL is this is possible.

Gee whiz they love to find little loopholes in the system and take advantage of them.

I always liked them until that Barry Hall game. Can't believe we had 2 x 100 point wins and didn't finish top 4.

                            Bah.
