WFH so taking a bit in. The ground is unbelievably suburban looking. Garcia just kicked a nice goal.

HT Brisbane lead 57-31

Lions dominated 1st 1/4 and blew out to a 6 goal lead before Dogs kicked a couple late. Dogs the better team in the 2nd 1/4 but kicked 1.6 to get the margin back to a couple of goals before the Lions kicked a couple late.

Macpherson and Robinson got into a dust up at half time. Of course they did.

Garcia playing well and Butler also playing well.

Darcy playing ruck and resting forward. Has taken a couple of nice marks. Not great conditions for big guys.

Hannan in defence.

Of the Footscray boys Garner probably the only one worth a mention. Playing well out of the back half.

I don't think Roarke Smith has touched the ball at all in a half of football. Thats just not good enough for one of the more senior players in the team. If he was not contracted for next year I would be calling for his delisting.

I think Luke Cleary could be a good player.

Umpiring in this game is just atrocious. It's not the reason we are losing but they have been awful.

Roarke & Zaine both have 1 kick each 1/2 thru the 3rd qtr… clearly not good enough for senior players.

Honestly I don't think its the worst idea. He's been playing as the third tall forward for us, but if we are going to pump games into JUH then that spot is harder to claim.

He's big enough and quick enough to play as a medium defender, is good in the air, and is decent in the contest. He hasn't really shown it with us but those sort of guys that can take speckies can transition to an intercept type role pretty well, Howe the best example but Crozier was very good for 2 years.

For someone who isn't really best 22 in his current incarnation, and is only going to face increased competition in his preferred role (JUH, Khamis, maybe Lobb, Darcy will all fight for that third forward spot), I think it's worth a look.
