I'd like us to consider Brayden George (even though he may not play next season) Josh Weddell, Ed Allan or Darcy Jones.
Perhaps a longer shot selection might be Harry Barnett.
What I have seen of Darcy Jones he is the one I'd be most interested in. Saw him play and he was very impressive. Like what I have read too.

The more I think about it, the more I feel we could be tempted by Brayden George.

A lot will depend on how the top 10 play out and if anyone of interest slips, but if things play out as expected, I wouldn't be surprised if we take a chance on him. His X-factor and ceiling is highly appealing.

Has anyone heard news on Davey Jnr and his nomination as a father/son? I understand there's still time but it does feel strange that nothing has been said as of yet. That could be an interesting situation that has ramifications on how the first round plays out.

At 21? I wouldn't have thought so but he would be in the mix at 39.

I was really hoping to snag Harry Sheezel, but he has played his way to a top 5 pick. I just hope he doesn't have his career ruined by being drafted to Arden Street.

Would be stoked to get SOS...Mattaes "Son of Sam" Phillipou. He will be a killer selection. Pun definitely intended.

I was left foot/right hand which often confused opponents as you say.

In cricket I threw overarm right handed and underarm left handed. Now that really confused opponents
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I think that Phillipou will slide to our choice so I went with him. His skills will fit our playing group perfectly

Although if he's gone and Davey is still there I'd be happy to nominate him because I'd really like him (I like players with hurt factor who make their touches count) and it comes with the added advantage of *!*!*!*!ing Essendon's shit up.

Select Hollands at 14 (next year get his brother, chunk of his salary and the GCS first rounder in a points trade they’ll likely do next year)
Bid on Davey’s twin at circa pick 37, assuming he too nominates Essendon
Select Munkara at Pick 38, just short of the NGA cut off

                  Spite Draft.
I like the idea of it. Would we be prepared to do it or even some of it?

From what I've been reading here he sounds like a ready made replacement for Dunkley next year.
Draft Allan later as a Bontempelli clone then we would have set ourselves up for the future.

I also thought of Bont when I saw Allan play. The way he played and the fact his best footy has been at the end of the year. I like him.

Well spotted. I meant to mention that Davey could take the Dunkley role.

I've been reading a lot of profiles and for whatever reason I now think it will be Busslinger but it all hinges on who gets Gibney. If it's West Coast then I think we will pinch Busslinger before their next pick
It just seems the clubs before us in the order all have other priorities.

We'll be the ones who'll risk it to get the biscuit. If George is still there we'll find it to hard to pass up(fingers crossed).

Can grow a glorious mullet so will fit right in in the forward line.

Plus he'll spend a fair chunk of next year in rehab so there will be little pressure on him to perform - he gets added to our 2024 team with potentially two first picks.
That's one hell of a rejuvenation for the list.

If it did mean we drafted George at 22 it would essentially give us 2 x 1st rounders this year in terms of quality on top of 2 x first rounders we can select next year.
                                That's a decent rebound.
