Depends on if the selectors want someone purely defensive in Gardner. I?d prefer Keath who was better as the game went on

          How did Clarke go?
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

If I recall he kicked 1 possibly 2 goals. A bit quiet but did a few nice things. Tenacious and think he’ll get better.

I liked the look of O'Donnell today. Once he does a full preseason he will really improve.

Hope we hang on to Cody Raak. Is improving all the time. Like him in the backline better than forward. Still only 20 years old.

                        From our website.

A Next Generation Academy prospect, Cody Raak was added to the Bulldogs’ list as a pre-selected Category B Rookie in 2021. An intercept defender for the Western Jets, Raak missed out on selection in the 2020 Draft but impressed with his performances the following year. He becomes the third Bulldog to graduate from the NGA program, following Buku Khamis and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. Yet to make his AFL debut.

                          VFL player summary: Round 6

The key stats from the 10 senior-listed Bulldogs who played in Footscray's five-point win over Carlton.

                          Jedd Busslinger
18 disposals, nine marks, six rebound 50s
A month into his red, white and blue playing career, Busslinger is continually building. Spent majority of the match in defence, while registering his greatest output of the season so far.

                          Charlie Clarke
12 disposals, five marks, four inside 50s, one goal
Five games into his career, Clarke returned to the Dogs' list of goal-kickers on the weekend. Buzzing around inside 50, he brought great energy and excitement to the forward line.

                          Sam Darcy
                          14 disposals, four marks, four inside 50s, 13 hit-outs
With Jordon Sweet (bruised heel) sidelined over the weekend, Darcy assisted Josh Patullo in the ruck - winning 13 hit-outs - and went back late in the game to help steady. He took four strong marks and collected 14 touches in a promising performance.

                          Rhylee West
13 disposals, six tackles, five inside 50s, one goal
West was at his pressure-best on Saturday, sticking a game-high six tackles against the Blues. He also snuck forward for an early goal which helped the Dogs' gain an early buffer.

                          James O'Donnell
17 disposals, seven marks, three rebound 50s
O'Donnell backed up his red, white and blue debut with another impressive performance - considering he hasn't played footy in nearly three years. He was strong in the air with seven marks and again spent majority of his minutes in defence.

                          Buku Khamis
13 disposals, five marks, three inside 50s, one goal
Khamis? consistency and versatility continues to show - collecting 13 disposals and a goal in the win over Carlton. Returned to the state-league after a fortnight on the road with the AFL team and was impactful across the ground.

                          Mitch Hannan
14 disposals, five marks, three inside 50s, two goals
Hannan's AFL experience was on show against the Blues, bagging two goals from 14 disposals and five marks. He brought some composure to the game, particularly late when things got close, and played a key role up forward.

                          Luke Cleary
24 disposals, six marks, four rebound 50s
Cleary found plenty of the footy on Saturday, registering a season-high 24 touches and six marks. Settling in well across half-back, his ability to read the ball well was also on show.

                          Cody Raak
21 disposals, nine marks, two rebound 50s
Raak was also impactful in the air, clunking nine marks from 21 disposals. He used the ball well by foot with 15 kicks and is building into a nice bit of form.

                          Ryan Gardner
                          18 disposals, 11 marks, four rebound 50s
After a slow start coming back from an elbow injury, Gardner has built a strong platform in his time with Footscray. He took a game-high 11 marks - wreaking havoc for opposition forwards - while also claiming 18 possessions.
