I find a few of our VFL players maddening to watch as to me eye they often turn the ball over; Macpherson, Chatfield and possibly others. The ease with which Oranges are kicking into their F50 and taking marks is sad to watch.
Not sure if any of the players that Kruger listed should be retained. I’d add Sweet to that list myself. Perhaps Crozier and West for depth. I love Toby but sadly I think he is too slow after 2 ACLs. And doubt if other clubs would have interest in any we do delist either.

I really like Khamis, can take a good mark and he is generally an accurate shot at goal. Out lack of depth is now starting to show.

Onya Dogs. Pity we didn’t show that direct type of play for much of the other 3/4. Lots of time in F50 in Q1 with little to show for it. Sounds a bit familiar although I think our AFL side is improving in this area. Hard for VFL side to be fair with no Gardner, no O’Brien and inexperienced Buss and O’Donnell out tall backs. West was better in that last quarter too. Crozier tried his guts out too.

The key stats from the 12 senior-listed Bulldogs who played in Footscray?s 13-point defeat to GWS at Blacktown ISP.
Jedd Busslinger
17 disposals, 11 marks, two rebound 50s
Jedd continues to build back into football after a lengthy lay-off. He is holding strong down back and starting to show his aerial abilities with 11 marks.
Charlie Clarke
Nine disposals, six marks, two inside 50s
Charlie was still energetic around the contest despite not finding the footy as much as previous weeks. He is continually learning the structures and how to impact at VFL level.
Hayden Crozier
26 disposals, 13 marks, five inside 50s, three rebound 50s
It was a strong return to the action for Hayden, after being sidelined with an ankle complain the week before. He registered a game-high 13 marks, to go with 26 disposals. His AFL experience is invaluable, particularly for some of the younger and less experienced Dogs defenders.
Rhylee West
18 disposals, four marks, five tackles, six clearances, one goal
Rhylee impacted the game effectively on Saturday, laying an equal game-high five tackles to go with six clearances and 18 disposals. He also hit the scoreboard for the consecutive week too.
Toby McLean
25 disposals, four marks, four inside 50s, five clearances
Toby returned to the action after a fortnight in the AFL side ? but did not look like he had missed any footy at all. He added an extra layer of class to the Dogs? midfield mix, and impacted around the ground.
James O?Donnell
14 disposals, five marks
Like Jedd, James continues to build up his match minutes after signing as a rookie last month. He is strong in the air but has the capability and versatility to play anywhere ? despite being used predominately in defence for the start of his Bulldogs career.
Laitham Vandermeer
10 disposals, two marks
Laith remarkably returned to the field after two weeks sidelined with a rib injury ? which he sustained in his VFL return after a fractured leg. Despite the quieter output disposal-wise, it was great to see him back out there after an injury-interrupted start to his year.
Buku Khamis
12 disposals, six marks, four goals
Buku was prolific on Saturday, arguably putting together his best outing for Footscray this year. Four goals from 12 disposals showcased his accuracy and precision, playing an important role up forward in the absence of Sam Darcy.
Robbie McComb
20 disposals, five marks, five inside 50s, three clearances, one goal
Robbie had a solid impact in the Dogs? midfield on Saturday, claiming 20 disposals, five inside 50s and a goal. His second outing for the ?Scray this year.
Mitch Hannan
19 disposals, three marks, three tackles, two goals
Like Hayden in defence, Mitch added an extra layer of polish to the Dogs? forward-line on Saturday. He opened the red, white and blue?s scoring account with a classy snap in the first minute, and kept busy throughout the day.
Cody Raak
17 disposals, four marks, three rebound 50s
Cody continues to build some consistency in his game, adding another 17 disposals and four marks to his 2023 tally. Has been tried both up forward and down back this season, but looks to be settling in defence now.
Jordon Sweet
13 disposals, five marks, four clearances, 22 hit-outs
Jordon returned to the side after a bruised heel ruled him out of last week?s action. He picked up where he left off, winning 22 hit-outs and 13 disposals as he continues to build on his impact as a ruck.
