We should have the picks to cover Croft but it could be harder to get Lual onto our list.
I would imagine Power will set-up some pick swap opportunities to maximise our position.

is there anyway we can hide croft ?

this whole bidding system has taken away the heritage aspect of father/son connection.

I know we get a discount, and its a good problem to have but it can hurt us long term if we do not retain a round 2 pick, especially where we can unearth some decent mids in the picks 30-40 range.

The genie is out of the bottle and you can't really hide players now.
We should be prepared to pay up for the players we target and the discount does make it easier.

We can also trade back into the draft after a bid - that list is pretty loose compared to what's going on in clubland but Tholstrup & McAuliffe potentially sliding should prick our ears up a bit.

Croft with a bullet, although these guys seem the most bullish from their tweets and notes.

All we really need him to do is slide passed the first round, or our first (currently 13) at least. Or we get creative. Current 13 & 16 for 7 from GCS as this has Walter going at 5 to GCS. Or another shuffle maybe opens up.

Future picks are on the table if this ends up the asking price. Cash at free agent time to address other needs. A trade for a midfielder of some quality too to address that.

            Great ‘problem’ to have.

Yep. Huge points discount is great and we can cobble up a bunch of mid/late picks to secure a top talent with good pick trading and as Mof says good live trading after it. If this is where it ends up, we are going to be incredibly active. Yey if you love trading and drafting!

In what universe is Lance Collard not a top 20 pick?

Fair game here by the sounds of it:

The second WAFL Colts Super Round saw a few prospects put their names in lights. We highlight some of the top Round 4 performances.

                  #7 Lance Collard

Subiaco’s star of the show, Collard buried West Perth with six goals from nine scoring shots and over 10 attempts at the big sticks. Named in the state Under 18 squad, the electric top-ager posed plenty of threats deep inside 50 and dipped into his bag of tricks in a performance which included snaps, set shots, high marks, and pressure at ground level. It was a true forward’s game with just one handball from 17 disposals, but Collard and the Lions played good team footy in the front half.

He's genuinely UN BEEEEE LEEEEVE ABLE.

He carries on like a complete peanut as an aside but damn the kid can play. The stand on the oppo shoulders, drop the mark but land on my feet, gather the ball and snap it over my shoulder from 40m out sequence from the trial game on the weekend was breathtaking...it happens around the 10 minute mark of the last q for anyone with access to the video.
