Yes. But in terms of 'plug and play' mids looking for more opportunity - clubs will probably chase James Jordan (FA so is free) first, and Will Brodie should be playing seniors and is 'gettable'.

I'd be happy or rookie a mid who can walk into the side in case of injury. Our core midfield isn't getting any younger and there's no guarantee we get a mid with our first round pick(s) this year

Well if we look at it from purely a depth perspective having someone who could come in for 6 to 9 games as JOD and Busslinger continue their development or as insurance for Keath who is unlikely to get close to playing a full season especially from a player who won't cost a lot of money would be tempting.

And could be selected as a rookie using the SSP and saving a main list pick towards Croft. We have four rookie spots right now. Ticks a few boxes, on a one year rookie deal.

At the very least it's worth consider with some upside.

Looking at it. For conversation sake, say we rebalance the list by one. Thereby having three rookie list vacancies. Based on our history, I think we leave one open for a MSD. Then we have two spots. I think one is an SSP and either one live pick or someone like Bedendo rookie listed/selected (not that the strategy really works for us) or a VFL listed player.

Which is a long way of saying maybe we have one SSP selection. I think it should be a ruck or defender. But I’m not sure the club is 100% going to replace Sweet, at least not by SSP. So then it’s probably a defender. So Hore might be a candidate if we are looking for depth in defence with an SSP use/selection.

              VFL 2022 team of year.

Players named 2 years in a row:
              Lachlan Sullivan
              Matty Hore
              Chris Burgess GCS
              Will Fordham
              Tom Downie

Are any of them worth recruiting ?

I think he should be. He is a better footballer than quite a few on AFL lists.

Whether he will be is anyone's guess. Ive seen so often over the years good players at state level, major medal winners, not get a go.

We absolutely should be talking to Caleb Graham. Immediately becomes our 2nd best KPD after Jones. Didn't play this year at the Suns. Contracted so we'd have to pay up
