So at this stage no first or third rounder? A bit of work to do.
Who did we give another third to? We gave ours to Melbourne and held onto GCS.

Big game to win to ever so slightly improve the third rounder they’re giving us and giving them a slightly lower first back.
Round 2:
Picks:
Pick 29 (Dogs)
Pick 50 (GCS)
Pick 83 (Dogs)
Giving up:
Pick 9 (GCS)
Pick 47 (MELB)
Pick 65 (CARL)
Free Agency Compo Tiers (at natural selection, not end of rounds):
Pick 10
Pick 30
Pick 48

I?m keeping the math out it to keep it simple. The rolling trade is now Picks (after sliding in the ND after bids) 13, 23 & 9 - for - Picks 6/Sanders, 50, Freijah & 1/3 points for Croft (with 2/3 points from the Coffield/Pick 35/F4 trade). Assuming there?s at least 1 bid in the top 10 and 50 sits the same with picks chewed up even after FA compo then:
That?s not looking that bad with Sanders a jet, Croft a talent who slid giving us a free hit on Freijah who might be a handy player with Pick 50 replacing the third we gave up for Harmes. We?ve paid a premium but not nearly as high as it looked at the time if we can stay no lower than 10th/where we are now.
Edit:
With the 2/3 Croft, they were similar picks to Freijah & Pick 50. So if you want to even more generous, you could simplify it further to attribute Freijah & 50 to the 2/3 on Croft just spent in a different way. In which case it’s:
Then say 13 & 15/Croft cancel each other out. Picks 10 & 23 for Sanders, which is a bargain I reckon.

So: Pick 28 in DPs is today’s cost to secure Sanders, Croft (1/3 directly from GCS), Freijah & Pick 50 this year.
We gave 2 x Pick 30’s for Lobb. So the cost today isn’t terrible. You need to pay a premium to get a player like Sanders while collecting Croft, Freijah & 50. That’s not huge as it stands today.

A part from a trade, we can trade a future first for a first this year if we can find a club that wants that trade. There’s still a decent chance we have a first rounder.
