Re: Rank your top 6 draftees
Top 10 player no doubt. I didn't think he finished the season as strongly as he should have but perhaps the coach didn't play him in the right position.
I'd have Caddy, Watson and O'Sullivan around the mark with Windsor and Wilson right there as well.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Rank your top 6 draftees
Throughout the year Twomey does his rankings and just before the draft he does his phantom which is usually quite accurate. Two different lists.Comment

Re: Rank your top 6 draftees
Caddy is just 'big'. I like players who seem to understand 'space' and he understands space - he knows how to get into the clear. I think he has the capacity to play a number of roles at senior level - including a running half-back - but ultimately will be an outside/inside mid.
To me - current projection is that Dal Santo type of player.
I like Watson just fine. He is nippy and clever and all those things...but he is SO SMALL. Where does he play? Small Forward. And that's fine and great and all, but there are going to be times when you need a player to plug a gap and it just wont be him. It CAN'T be him. If you're 170cm you have to be insanely elite and I don't know if we can make that call yet.
Would I draft him? Of course. Would I draft him in the top 10? Geez....
The counter of course is he is a unique player with a unique skillset who could find a role in any side in the land 'cos EVERYONE needs someone who can kick a goal. What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

Re: Rank your top 6 draftees
Sanders is fine. He is a smart player and has more tricks - particularly inside the contest - than his detractors give him credit for but he is an inside mid, sweet and simple.
I think of him (same age) as being a bit like Steve Coniglio in terms of ball winning but Coniglio had that incredibly consistent kicking and abilty to regularly hit the scoreboard. Admittedly, that kicking seemed to desert him in the prelim this year.
I think - injury aside - he plays 200 games as the 2nd/3rd best mid on a good team.
That's pretty good. I'm just not sure what he offers is 'life changing'...good leadership skills apparently so we'll see - if he interviews well someone prob falls in love with him. What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment

Re: Rank your top 6 draftees
Jed Walter
McKercher
H Reid
Curtin
Duursma
Caddy
Wilson not far behind, I think I rate him higher than most.
Watson is great but his late season form surely runs an alarm bell or two.
I seriously would roll the dice on taking or current pick 10 to draft and keep our F1 if I had a say.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

Re: Rank your top 6 draftees
Watson certainly is polarising within the top 10....
Sounds like he's great at one thing but big question marks on whether he can add more to his game.Comment
