Macrae has had a lot of it but I wouldn't exactly say that he's been amazing. Not damaging enough for someone of his talent level.

      1/4 time Dogs 4.4.28 v GWS 2.2.14

      Spicer 2, Bedendo 1, Lobb 1

Macrae about 10 touches. Garcia & Freijah lively, Spicer very dangerous as small forward. Keath controlling the defence. Lobb a couple of strong contested marks.

No sign of Busslinger, Scott or McNeill

Been super in the contest as you'd expect but lacking a bit of polish so far.

In terms of our midfielders I would say that Garcia and Hunt have had much more influence out there.

No way. Jack has been the first link in the chain. Completely dominating at this level as he should.

He was physically ill on Friday. I mentioned it on the training report.

                  1/2 time Dogs 7.6.48 GWS 8.6.54

Goals, Spicer 2, Lobb 2, Bedendo, Stretton, Artie

GWS got on top early that term with a 3 goal run in first 10 minutes. Macrae didn't touch the ball during that period. He now has around 25 disposals. So aside from the quiet start to the 2nd has been busy. Garcia clearly our best with many clearances and I5O's.
Freijah playing well across half back. Clarke getting more involved and working hard defensively. Lachie Smith getting beaten in the ruck by Madden. Bedendo ineffective playing mainly on the wing. They should move him back to the forward line where he plays his best footy. Dogs will need to lift.

                      3/4 time Dogs 8.10.58 v GWS 11.9.75

Goals: Spicer 2, Lobb 2, Bedendo, Stratton, Jones, CCP

GWS controlling it. Dogs lack spark and too reactive. Too many standing around waiting for someone else to do it. Lobb moved in to the ruck and did reasonably well. He did drop a sitter 30m out late in the term. Macrae up to around 35 possies. Again missing early in the 3rd when GWS kicked early goals. Freijah among our best now. Garcia our main driver I50.

Poor coaching in that term. He decimated our forward line. I agreed with the Lobb to ruck move but then why not play 2 of our best forwards Bedendo and Spicer up forward. He eventually did late in the term. Has the horse bolted?

Great start to the last quarter kicked the last 4. Macrae, Lobb and Garcia front and centre.

Macrae played how you'd expect, lots of the ball and lifted in the final quarter.

Lobb playing primarily ruck was the game changer, kicked four goals as well.

Garcia had a massive second half.

Jones 10 touches and a goal, does a lot of the off the ball stuff that is required of a small forward.

Duryea and Keath were good but not spectacular, what you'd want from break glass when needed players.

Freijah played on the HBF, was good and showed some dash.

Cleary had a typical game at VFL level that he has, I'm still not sure if he makes it or if he's just a great VFL player.

Clarke 15 touches and a goal, much like Jones he did the non-negotiable pressure acts and he always tries to bring teammates into the game.

Bedendo was quiet, kicked a goal early but didn't do much up on the wing.

Smith battled but looked really undersized vs Madden.

Full Time Dogs 14.14.98 def GWS 12.9.81

Goals: Lobb 4, Spicer 3, Garcia 2, Bedendo, Stratton, Artie, CCP, Clarke

Brilliant last 1/4 by Dogs kicking 6 in a row til late GWS consolation goal. Macrae and Garcia were brilliant in the final term with Lobb dominating in ruck and forward. Lobb and Garcia both kicking 2 each in the final term. Good support also from Freijah off half back.

Clarke and Artie will be fine once they get more involved over the entire game. Small forward is the hardest position to play in AFL and they do all the non-negotiables that you need from a small forward.
