Walked out comfortable winners in the end, Daniel had a big influence in the second half.

I do think the defensive core of Coffield, Busslinger, Cleary and Khamis all had strong games.

Thanks Testekill. I caught a bit of it here and there but appreciated your efforts.

I watched the replay and thought we were on the short release of holding the ball rather than MN but we grinded out a win.
No one really stood out but conditions weren't the best with most of the AFL having patches here or there.
Buss being the most consistent of the bunch and continuing he's good form.

Haven't watched it but I hope Garcia, Scott, Poulter and Busslinger are putting their names forward.

My thoughts on how everyone went. I'm probably being a little generous because the conditions weren't great but we were very good overall, North couldn't miss when they were taking shots at goal on a wet day. We did get smashed in clearances for most of the game which was a big concern, they put a hard tag on CCP and Garcia didn't really lift out of second gear.Happy to bank the points and move onto Werribee next week

              Daniel
started off kinda disappointing and for the first half I didn't think he had very much impact, second half he was probably the player that turned the tides like you'd want from a senior player like him. Two goals and led the team in tackles alongside Harmes.

Harmes got 20 touches but I thought he had a shocker today. Just nothing went right and it really looked like it impacted his confidence and got in his head. Laid 8 tackles so he had some intent but he was not good at all.

It was a pretty damp day today so it's not ideal conditions for talls but Busslinger looked great. Beat his man pretty handily and snuck forward for his first goal.

Khamis was very good in defence today, defended well on a day where it's tough to be a one grab player. He still seems to have some very dumb moments

Coffield was also very good as an interceptors, looks fit but a little rusty. I don't know if we bring him in for Duryea this week or if we let him gain touch in the VFL.

Of our notable defenders, I noticed Cleary the least although for a defender it's not necessarily bad for that to happen. He was still solid and gave a good showing on return.

McNeil kicked two, probably should have had 4 as there were two gettable shots that went through for behinds. Worked hard out there but I do feel he needs to attempt more tackles.

Poulter had a typical Poutler VFL game, looked good and does some nice stuff on the outside. Just can't seem to make the next step

Tony Scott swapped between high half forward and the wing. Doesn't have a problem getting involved at VFL level and he's an ideal depth player. He was the man primarily delivering inside 50

Garcia was.... fine I suppose but he never really shifted into third gear and we know he's capable of much more.

Our other smalls did get on the scoreboard and laid 12 tackles between them but it was just too slick and greasy to be clean out there. I think that next year we should consider training Jones with the defenders and seeing what he can do off of the back flank since he's contracted and not looking super likely as a forward.

Smith went down sore but played out the game. Was decent overall

Croft kicked the three goals but two of them were from free kicks and one was a joe the goose goal. It was just not a good day for tall forwards as I think there were maybe single digits contested marks for both teams. His goal out the back did have some nice forward craft as he read it beautifully and lost his man.

It looks like they'd identified Craig-Peters as the person to stop as they had Greenwood sitting on him at all times.

Nice summary Testekill I think you covered everything very well. Interesting one with Smith from what I could see on the small screen he won the ruck contest and was it him who palmed it down to CD for a goal?

Yeah he served up a goal on a silver platter for Daniel. Overall the points were split between the rucks as Smith and Hamish Free had almost identical games and there was a bit of argy bargy between the two all day.

2 goals, 11 touches, 4 tackles. One goal was him stealing an Orgill goal on the goal line and the other was him being in a clever position to kick a goal.

I'm not as down on him as others and it wasn't a day for anyone to be clean with the ball. I'd put him, Jones and Rypstra down in the "they were fine" category.

It wasn?t stealing it come off kangas hands he crumbed a goal of hands. It was a great shepherd by McNeill.
I think it was very even spread actually no real stand outs. If I had to pick best would be CD Buss & McNeil. Just on McNeil gets a bad wrap at time but his energy and contest was very good yesterday.
Big clash against Werribee this week. Hopefully weather is better. Disappointing it?s on when seniors are on

The only thing with McNeil is he fluffs his lines when it counts the most in front of goal and were not talking 50 or even 40 metres out.
If he could make all those kicks in front of goal he would be a handy player. So with most the patience has been lost.

It's frustrating, he'd make a great partner for Weightman but his finishing is just not good enough so he fluffs extremely gettable shots that should be regulation and it undoes all of the great work he does.

It's a difficult role and McNeil is actually physically equipped to play that position but he consistently misses too many goals.
