Some of that late defending was questionable.
Harmes might have given the selectors a headache.
I think Jones plays in front of West.

The hardness and experience of Harmes? The excitement and new defensive pressure of Arty Jones? Or do you back in West to regain what he was doing for most of the season after falling away late in the season?

I hate it but I don?t think you can pick West based on his last few weeks at AFL level, and on today?s performance. Put in a real stinker when he needed to put his hand up and say pick me.

I agree with that. Watching him closely today his positioning was not good and flew for too many marks when he should have been crumbing.

Rapt for Gardy that he kicked the winner. Tough conditions there today with the gusty wind.

How good is the redevelopment. Doing a lap of the oval at half time i ducked into the toilet. Spotless!

And best of all, i was able to buy a veggie pastie in the cafe. Beautiful!

I don't like having to use Gardner at FF, but there aren't many choices.

* Buku stayed down one end the whole match and was very effective. Kicked 2.1 and a ripper goal from the boudary

* Harmes with 37 disposals, was everywhere, and should play Friday

* Sanders started well and then was ok for the rest of the match.

* JJ started to find some form

* Poulter finished the game better than he started, but was not damaging

* Arty kicked 3 and put alot of pressure on the opposition

* Keath is cooked


Bedendo, Clarke, Coffield, West, Baker played average games

I was busy this afternoon and only got to turn on as Khamis was lining up for his goal in the last. He's a beautiful set shot, it's a shame a) we don't have a position in our forward line and b) he wasn't able to convert his VFL forward form to AFL when he did get the chance. I'm surprised an opposition club aren't trying to lure him out as a potential forward.

The defensive efforts across the ground to allow them coast to coast twice was really disappointing, although they did get free kicks in the centre of the ground on both occasions.

I feel like West possibly played the game of someone who knew he was playing next week already and needed just to get through, and Arty and Harmes played like players with a carrot in front of them.

Pretty hard to not pick West if fit. He’s got the credits now. I like that we’ve got players pushing though.

West was probably playing to gain fitness before returning but he was pretty underwhelming today. I'd probably lean Jones or Harmes ahead of him based on performance.
