I haven't formed a clear opinion of what he is, but Id be pleased to see them free him up a little and play a bit more instinctively - moving forward might be the answer

Everitt is listed as 193 the same as Skipper.
Everitt's problem has been a lack of strength (hopefully not hardness) and he looks more like a running player. I would like to see him get a game more as the outside runner type but he probably lacks the motor for that at the moment.
He seems to be in limbo and needs a big UNINTERRUPTED pre-season to see if he can really take the necessary step we need.

He is exactly one year older than Ward,ie 20 years old, so has plenty of time to develop. I don't think stuck at Willi is the go, he has to get himself ready to play consistent AFL football.

I agree. Everitt will never be a backman IMO. He doesn't read the play well enough. He'd be quicker than a lot of the guys he plays on - even at AFL level - but he's always trailing behind. Obviously he lacks strength and this is a major reason why he often loses contests, but I haven't seen anything to suggest Everitt can play in the back half at all.

I'm a little worried with Everitt. He's not tall enough to be a KPP, and so for his size, he's not quick enough either. He reminds me of Skipper in that he seems to casually glide/lope around the ground. He's a bit quicker than Skip, but the traits are very similar. His strength and intensity is well down so he's often beaten in contests because of a lack of both. He does have a long reach and can kick the ball long and well, but I think he's falling off the pace.

I haven't seen him play for a while but for mine, he hasn't been able to display any real strengths in the past two years. IMO he's not as mobile/agile as he should be. A player like Jack Riewoldt would beat him almost every time for ground balls. He fumbles a little and doesn't always make the correct decision.

I'd like to see Everitt shifted up forward too. Perhaps he'd be better leading at the ball and playing on instincts. He's a little too 'reactive' for mine.

I hope he turns it around.

            Stick Everrit on the wing

Yes he plays well there, but we have such a luxury of midfielders at the moment that he wouldn't be able to play there for the Dogs.

Long term I see him as the replacement of Shaggy, taking the midsized player down back and hurting on the rebound. He had such a great first year that I think we all set very high standards for him - too high for a 20 year old.

With KPP though, you've got to wait until they fill out before you really know their position.

Once he puts on another 10/15KG - will he still be as quick? Will he still get pushed off the ball? You can't really judge just yet.

I've only seen his few doggies games - but can't recall - what's he like overhead? Grant seems good overhead, but what about Andrejs?

So true. Its the nature of the beast to want all our young guys to be guns straight away, but then reality bites! Mental pressure and expectation is something we dont see, but i think Everitt is a perfect example of this.

I think it was more loose man in defence.

Was he half back flank? I remember him being the only highlight of the later games of that season. I expected him to be cemented into the side by now as Higgins has done.

He played there for a few games for Williamstown over the past month and he just doesn't seem to cover the ground well enough to play on a wing at a higher level.

He has struggled ever since getting the number 3.

With Grant, I think he could really benefit from some one on one, personal training with a guy who has been a successful forward at the highest level. Im fairly sure Dermie Brerton has done some work down at Punt Rd specifically with Jack Riewoldt and his recent performance have been great. Could this type of specialised training be an option and benefit Jarrad?

One man & one man only for the job, the great C. Grant.
