Re: TAC Cup Future Stars Phantom Draft

I've seen a little bit of Temel - he's a solidly built young guy and is capable of clunking some big grabs up forward.

I've heard Panos is very similar to Pavlich at the same age - if he's still available, he might be worth a very hard look (even though I believe we need to either go for defensive cover or a speedy midfielder).
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Could we cope with two in the same side?

I think he could also play as a key defender and I think he would be worth a look at later in the draft.

Panos didn't have a great carnival so it's a bit hard to judge him but he has no fundamental flaws and will be a first round consideration.

If you can think of some other guys worthy as a mention just list them and I'll build a more comprehensive list later on.

We will no doubt do one of those phantom drafts again this year which a lot of people really enjoyed.

Son of former Bulldog Bruce Reid by the way. Bruce never played enough games for him to be a F/S chance.

He's a very athletic player probably better suited to the back line.

Thanks... I think two Sam Reids in one team would be very amusing...and confusing!

Have gotten word from a mate playing for Eastern that this kid is an absolute gun, and a phenominal kick for goal (has kicked something like 80.13 for the season - i've got a feeling this might be an overstatement, but impressive none the less.)

However, no state representation at the carnival has me skeptical.

He is an overage player much like Jayden Post was last year for the Jets so he was never eligible to be selected for Vic Metro.

The query on him is his pace. He has kicked a few bags of goals but often when the better players were absent with the Vic Country and Metro duties.

With a shallow draft, especially for talls, and some compromised drafts just about upon us there might be a few teams interested. Could be a nice rookie list pick up.

A relation. Not a son but a relation of Nicky. This guys is a great mover and has a bit of the x-factor about him.

I haven't seen much of Duncan but I keep hearing very good things - rated as a late first rd pick. What are your thoughts?

He's a good player. Composed, long kick and a good decision maker. Late 1st round or early 2nd in my opinion. Could be available when we have our pick but he's not a gun midfielder or a KPP. More of a goal kicking utility.

The knock on him is that he isn't regarded as a high possession winner.

Putting yesterday aside, do you rate Winmar as a 2nd or 3rd round pick?

I've heard the biggest knock on him is his current fitness base - just doesn't get to enough contests and fades out of games. Sound about right?
