    TAC Games

I went out to Shepley Oval today to watch the Stingrays take on the Power.
Some highly rated players on display today but a howling win straight down the ground took a bit away from what was an otherwise hard fought game.

    Dandenong Stingrays 3.7 3.8 10.11 12.14 (86)
    Gippsland Power 1.0 8.4 12.4 17.4 (106)

    GOALS:
Dandenong Stingrays: Casboult 3 Parker 2 Bastinac 2 Osborne Petropoulos Hallahan Pitt Shaw
Gippsland Power: Lamb 5 Dowse 4 Northe 3 Donchi 2 Sing Tynan Woodhead

    BEST:
Dandenong Stingrays: Roberton Parker Bastinac Harrison Casboult Scully
Gippsland Power: Dowse Carr Stevens Tynan Vardy Sing

If I go to the TAC games tomorrow, I'll keep updating this thread.

Nice return to the TAC Cup for our boys - I look forward to hearing GVG's thoughts on the game (and their performances).

      Re: TAC Games

Both Wallis and Libertore acquitted themselves well. Not sure they were the best 2 for Calder but I'll go with TAC report.
Libertore is good overhead and backed into packs and held marks a couple of times.
Wallis was better over the 4 quarters and generally used the ball well. I'd like to see him work a bit harder with his 2nd efforts.
Temel started off as the FB before getting moved up forward because he was a bit slow for his opponent. He played better up forward.
Carlise disappointed in the 1st half but had a few more possessions in the 3rd term.
      Hunter did some nice things.
Mitchell was exciting with his marking power.
Long provided a bit of dash.

Talia didn't play but was in his gear getting his photo taken.

Heaps of recruiters there today with Prendergast looking worried

From these early stages, hypothetically if Libba and Walli were draftable, what round picks would we have to use GVGjr?

p.s. - Thanks for all the reports!

Good to see Melksham in the bests - he had a reasonably solid national carnival.

I rate him an early-to-mid second round pick - what are your thoughts GVG?

I can't make that call. Lets remember that things are going to get very messy in the next couple of years.

I think you assessment is accurate. His poor carnival though won't have helped. The question might be around if he is capable of being much more than serviceable with a lot of good players around a contest.

He was I thought close to the best on the ground today. He used the ball well and ran hard. There was also a few interceptions because he just read the opposition players intentions and backed himself. It was good to watch.

Eastern had a swag of players out today which was a real shame. No Andrew Moore, Ben Griffiths and Jordan Gysberts just to name a few.

Good to see Majak Daw amongst the goals (5) on the weekend – word is that he didn’t even get an invite to the state screening, which is a surprise.

I’m still very keen on getting him on the rookie list.

A had a mate go on Saturday and he was full of praise for him.
Well worth a consideration for a rookie spot. We should pick him on the Majak name alone

Good size and very athletic which makes you wonder why we would chase guys in Fiji.

He’s exactly the type of player we should be looking at – great size, huge athletic potential and a quick learner. The fact that he’s from our neck of the woods and would be a valuable marketing tool within the Sudanese community is just a bonus.

I hope Dalrymple is having a very good look, and I’d be happy to put my hand in my pocket again to help raise some funds.

I agree. I tend to think a few clubs would be interested in him so he might not last to the rookie selections. He would be a great fit for our club and he must be on the radar.
