Williamstown funding a rookie in 2010

Not sure if anyone else noticed it, in the Bulldog magazine that arrived in the last couple of days there was the usual report from Williamstown. In the text it confirmed that they would be providing the funding for another rookie in 2010!

I guess this will open the flood gates for discussion on who the dogs will pick?
    ie Rose, Little etc.

It's been mentioned a few times that Williamstown was keen to put the money forward again. I'm fairly sure Rose's name was linked at the time.

Rose would be the odds on favourite, IMO.

          Joyce?

Rose would have to be favourite especially if Aker & Welsh give it away.

Grossman is 24 later this year which I think would rule him out of a spot. He's only played 1 senior game from memory as well.

Rampe is off to the state screening soon enough so might be on the radar of a few clubs.

Can Little be rookied? Wasn't he on Hawthorns list a few years back & isn't there a rule that stipulates that a mature age rookie can not have been on a AFL list before?

What about one from left field in Gotch, really impressive young midfielder. Could any more determined Willy watchers comment on his chances?

I think you are right. Little would have to be added to the senior list. Rose could be rookied.

For all those Willy watchers Comrade, GvGjr etc. What are your thoughts on Nick Georgiadis? Played Tac footy for the jets. Has a damaging left foot, good pace, good mark and gets plenty of the pill! I like the look of this kid!

From watching the TV coverage of the Port Melbourne game i would be looking at Dylan Joyce. Apparently only 19 and playing his 11th VFL senior game and was terrific.

When things click for him he's an exciting player. A little too error prone for his own good though.

I'm not sure if it's symptomatic of playing in the reserves, but he's just too selfish IMO, preferring to do the flashier/low percentage things rather than set up a teammate in a better position.

He's not Robinson Crusoe though, as there are a few of the reserves boys who put personal glory before the team.

From all the guys at Williamstown i would have to say Rampe has the most upside, coming from NSW last year, has played some very good solid games in the twos and would benifit greatly from being a full time footballer i think. Very good left boot on him, and as i read earlier can shrug tackles easily with that big but of his
