    TAC Finals

I didn't bother to go to the Williamstown game today and stayed at Princess Park for 2 finals games.

Calder vs North Ballarat ended up being a 97 point rout for Calder even though the scores were only eight points apart at half time.

Serhet Termel booted 8 second half goals and must have had more than 15 marks in an impressive game.
Melksham, Toy and Wallis were good contributors for Calder as well. Wallis took a couple of nice marks and a lot of his runs forward resulted in goals for Calder.

A big upset in the 2nd game with Eastern easily accounting for Geelong in the last quarter after being the most even of games for the first 3 quarters.

Rohan was well held by Moore for the first half before Moore went forward and kciked 4 goals himself.

      Re: TAC Finals

I didn't make it to Visy Park to see the early game - I think Calder is the definite smoky with all their quality players together at the right time of the year.

GVG, I'd like to hear your thoughts on Gysberts - he's been talked up as a first round pick in the 10-16 range, and I've been impressed with what I've seen of him.

Would you have him on our radar?

On the radar yes but even though I have seen him a few times I can't identify a true position for him. He started of in the forward line (FF) for Eastern today and switched into the midfield a fair bit. He got enough of the ball but isn't an in and under type nor is he overly quick. He doesn't run and carry the ball that much either.
I'd like to see how he goes at draft camp.

He spent a lot of time on the bench but when he was on he went OK. I can recall some nice long kicks

One snippet information, yesterday I talked to one of the recruiting guys yesterday and he thought Jake Carlisle would be heading our way. When pressed he wasn't real sure why he had Carlisle linked to the Dogs.

He's the quintessential athlete-turned-footballer, who will take a number of years before he's ready to play at the top level.

I'd prefer to look elsewhere with our first pick and maybe take a look if he's still around for our second (highly doubtful).

                  What are your thoughts GVG?

He's interesting but I think we can find better players in the first round and he will be gone before our 2nd selection.
I'm not sure that I agree that he will take years to to reach the top level although he will need a couple of years to mature.

Both TAC games are being played tomorrow so if you want a look at some future draftees it would be worth the trip to Visy.

The Geelong Falcons would be keen to make amends for last week and you should never right off the Cannons in the finals.

The Cannons once again performed well in the business end of the season and move into the preliminary final. Temel backed up a good game last week with 7 goals this week. His marking was once again impressive.

The Falcons easily accounted for the Gold Coast side. Rohan was fairly well held but kicked a long running goal.

Temel has certainly put his hand up as a KPP to look out for on draft day. I still query his pace and mobility, but he has the ability to consistently clunk big marks.

GVG, I'd like to hear your thoughts on Christensen's game - I'm not his biggest fan, but he obviously performed well today.

He played a fair bit in the back line today and I was a little surprised that he was named as the best. It was a funny game and there wasn't a lot of 4 quarter players. I had Smedts as probably the best on ground.
