    13 Adel Koby Stevens

    14 Syd Kane Lucas

    15 WB Jake Carlisle

    16 Port Luke Tapscott

    17 Geel Brad Sheppard

    ALSO

    27 BL Josh Thomas

    30 Coll Troy Taylor

    32 StK Jesse Crichton

    39 Haw James Craig

    WESTERN BULLDOGS

PICK 15: Jake Carlisle, 18, Calder Cannons, key forward, 196cm 83kg Butcher and Talia would be the Dogs' preferred choices, but Carlisle might be a good Plan C. Can play at either end.

    OTHER PICKS: 31, 63, 79

CLUB NEEDS: Same old theme. In a perfect world a power forward. Surely they would take John Butcher if he slipped through.

CLUB SAYS: "We're confident we'll get something of worth late in the first round,''

I'd be a little surprised if we did select Carlisle with pick 15 but not disappointed. He's very versatile and could be effective at both ends of the ground.

Is he ever going to be a KPP, or more an Everitt type though?
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

He's already taller than Everitt, and I believe a bit heavier at the same age. Most of the (stop sniggering) BF phantoms have Carlisle as late first round / early second round, and at least two of the posters there seem to have some handle of things (leading the rest of the lemmings along).

Watching Carlisle play reminds me of a slightly better version of Cam Wight (both Calder Cannons too). He’s a bit of a tweener – not overly pacy for a backman and doesn’t have great presence when playing up forward. He is a natural athlete who moves well (for his size) but there will be much better players available at our first pick – (Sheppard, Duncan, Bastinac, less likely but possibly Jetta, Black, Melksham or Talia).

          Pass.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

IMO, he's a genuine KP prospect not like Everitt who is probably capable of switching between both roles.
He's more of a defender than a forward. He did OK in the finals series for the Cannons.

I find "tweeners" can be a bit polarised. It either really clicks and they have massive advantage of being too big and/or mobile for opponents or they can just end up only being able to half fill a variety of spots.

Bastinac is a very, very talented footballer at U18 level but his lack of leg speed will be found out at a higher level. Not for us when you consider Boyd, Cross and Ward are not blessed with pace and next year Thomas Liberatore and Mitch Wallis who are not quick join the club. Any midfielder we take this year must be quick and be a ball carrier and that is where Jasper McMillan Pittard fits the bill. Not convinced about Melksham being worthy of a first rounder either.

After having a look at his highlights i must admit he doesn't look like a kpf.

I can also see the similarities with Cam Wight.
