I think Dyson could be a good footballer. He already has a nice kick and pace.
Scott is also a handy type but I'm not sure that he could make it to the senior level.
After landing Markovic I have little interest in Edwards now especially if Cameron Pedersen is on the radar. I suppose Rose is just about locked in.
I was very impressed with Michael Thompson when he played for Vic Metro and whilst I don't think we will select him it would be a shame if he wasn't drafted.

I think Dane Rampe would be a good selection as well.
It's a shame that we will miss on Majak Daw

I agree, He would not only be another tall at the start of several possible years of drought for talls in the draft thanks to the AFL expansion policy (still insist that Tassie should have been first up if at all). The fact that it would be a local community coup of huge proportions. The largest growth in population in the City of Maribyrnong (as found in the Australian Bureau of Statistics,2001 and 2006 Censuses) is from the Horn of Africa. With AFL not traditionally played within this community, Majak Daw could and would become a sporting and cultural conduit and icon in the making between an under-represented yet growing social demographic and and the game of Aussie Rules, AFL and the Western Bulldogs more specifically.
Memberships help keep the financial axe from falling and our club should not overlook such an opportunity to capitalise on this opportunity to increase the local community supporter base. I also believe that Majak could be a symbol of success through commitment, which could then be aspired to by youth of his generation and background, some of whom do struggle with finding recognizable role models of relevence.

P.s. Sorry, I seem to be currently channelling Andrew Demetriu and Campbell Rose at the same time!

Good to see Stopp is apparently in the mix to get picked up.

Will be interesting to see who we end up with come Tuesday.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

If Sam Power gets a home then surely someone will give Mitch Thorpe another chance. We all know he's a dickhead but getting a rookie spot would be the kick up the backside he needs.

Mitch Thorp requires surgery to his foot & may not be able to run for 6 months. Won't help his cause.

                OUCH!

That said, with the new mature rookie rule in, he could back back to Tassie or play wherever for half a season after recovery for that surgery, and really press a spot next year if he just shows some ticker, like any player, it's up to him, and he has showed at junior levels that he can play the game.

At least with Sam, you know what you get, pretty much a stop fill gap type that can play a role of required, would only probably be a depth player who could just step up a notch playing alongside his older brother.

What has Mitch done? apart from being rated high as a junior player, just like Sam was, only thing, Sam has a terrific attitude and has played upwards of 100 games or so, and Mitch, well....sook, dickhead, up himself are key words that come out when people mention his name.

Thorpe should concentrate on getting his body right and then playing well at whatever level it is. Doubtful he'll find another AFL home but if he turns his attitude around, puts in a good 2010 then there's no doubt clubs will circle. It's really up to him.

Only meant that Mitch would have larger scope for improvement than Sam. Sam can't cut it at senior level anymore & Mitch is still a kid.

So he's not allowed out of the house anymore? I hope he does get to the Gold Coast and goes well, no doubt he has the talent!!

He is a good footballer but obviously pace is one of the things that limits him. If he can get a good go at it with the GC VFL side then he might be able to get back onto a senior list.
                              I hope he does.
