Boumann's lost a lot of ground since the start of the preseason.

Plenty of new names to watch over this year.

Boumann to start in the magoos after an average pre-season, but I'm looking forward to seeing Roughy take on the number 1 ruck role in the seniors.

Good to see Jones named in the seniors, also.

Will be interested to read the reports on Daniels. He looked sharp at training on Wednesday and was doing well thru the pre-season before his setbacks.

He was impressive last season but I was told he's a fair way behind at the moment due to his injuries. Obviously has a bit of catching up to do.

I remember a running goal that he kicked in a pre-season game last year against Sandringham that screamed class; bloody injuries have done him no favours.

Looking forward to seeing Tutt and Hooper on the weekend; hopefully Tutt plays on the wing and Hooper gets a run up forward.

Not sure if you have seen much of Panos but I'd be interested in your views on his mobility.

I haven't had a chance to see him play during the pre-season, so I'll keep a close eye on him Saturday.

The naming of the teams is a joke with all those players we know will not be lining up on Saturday. Why do they persist in doing that?

When the Western Bulldogs play on a Sunday, they have to name 7 players on the interchange bench. At 5pm on a Friday the 25 picked by the Bulldogs is trimmed back to 22; the remaining 3 are then the emergencies.

In essence, on a Thursday any 4 of the 7 interchange players named will ultimately be selected by the Bulldogs.

Williamstown, also selecting their team on a Thursday need to name all 7 of the players selected to be on the interchange by the Bulldogs, knowing that the following day it will be trimmed back & they'll get 3 of those 7.

The alternative to this is for Williamstown to pick the 'correct' team it will field; in other words announcing The Bulldogs team 24 hours earlier than is required. Aint gonna happen!

How about naming two players for each of the positions where there is a bulldog player named on the bench. eg Could be Picken and in brackets Cravino.

The current way makes no sense.

Cordy, Jones, Hooper and Mulligan are all named on the bench but not named in the reserves so it can be assumed they will all be playing seniors.

This should be a good hit out for the side today so it's great it's on TV.
I'm heading over to watch the reserves as well but I'm not sure how many Bulldog boys will be playing but it might just be Prato, Panos and Daniels.
