Really frantic finish. Ball was in Sandy's half and Big Will did a great drag down tackle. Willy gained possession and a couple of handballs and they were away - umpire called it back as a free for too high or something against Sandy..Turnover kick and then the siren not long after. Willy fans were nottt happy with the no advantage decision.
IM pretty sure Josh Hill was free on the grandstand side but they guy who had the ball(i forget who it was now) chose to go on the other side of the ground......was quite funny watching some of the boys who played last night screaming to kick it to Josh Hill, and there reactions when the ball didnt go there...
Ah well, nice comeback from the Willy boys......
I heard Hooper say he did his ac....not sure about Tutt, but he was in a lot of pain when he was coming off...
Great to see Will play ok as well...still think he could have done more out there, but he did his job.....
I see Will in the best players, but posters not overly excited.
In the seniors everyone very excited by Roughy, even though his output below Will's normal game (but also without the frees against).
Without having any visibility, I am wondering how Will's game really compares to the VFL output we had over the past 2 seasons of Street and Skipper.
I suspect Will is being marked to a higher standard.

Possibly, but surely our expectations must be higher for Will than for Street and Skipper.
Expectations aside, I saw better VFL games from Wayde last year than Will's output on the weekend - that being said, conditions didn't suit big men so it was great to see him battle to the end.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Thanks Comrade
Yes our (and my) expectations of Will are higher. I do expect him to dominate opposing ruckmen at VFL level. Because I rarely can see the games, I do rely on the reports of others.
I have more confidence in your assessment than many others and I also note that you gave Will a wrap that was more complimentary than anyone else.
What we really need is to have the best possible side at senior level and I firmly believe that Will, when he fully gets over his pre-season issues, is better than Roughy at this point.
Mind you I love the look of Roughy and think he has so much going for him that he could eventually captain the club.

It's easy to get carried away when a young tall comes in and shows competency but I agree; a fit and firing Minson will have more influence at the highest level compared to Roughy's expected output.
I think Will needs at least 2 or 3 more weeks at the Seagulls to address the areas of his game that precipitated his demotion. Being the sole ruckmen has 2 major benefits:
1. rucking for 100 minutes should should assist with his much discussed conditioning issues
2. the extra responsibility should help to iron out/minimise the silly errors
If he can force his way back into the Bulldogs team on the back of strong form and his weaknesses have been addressed, that can only be a good thing.
Funnily enough, our big men aren't an issue at the moment. It's our midfield that seems to be the biggest concern and more specifically, our lack of rotations and running strength late in games; Ward, Picken and Reid and big losses, but at least they'll be handy recruits in the second half of the season.

More like the first qtr ,we seem to give the opposition 2 or 3 goals head start before we score.

Agree 100%
We have done very well in addressing the perceived weakness in talls over the past 5 years - Starting from Tommy Williams (despite the oft posted views of some).
The young talls look very promising especially if somehow Boumann could put it together with his attitude. Currently our depth is tested by ongoing injury to players not seen by the wider footy community as vital. I am talking Ward and Picken specifically, but Reid would be pushing strongly without his fitness issues.
2010 draft addresses midfield depth and we are the only club to basically know what we will get with our first 2 picks.
While some fans from other clubs think we are on a last chance for a flag, I believe we are set for as much as a 5 year run or better where we stay a top team.

Totally agree with the midfield, i think we haven't helped by having more big men in the side than last year. Gia moving to the midfield seems to have re-invigorated him and hopefully he plays more in there this year.
With the ruck situation, i think it's good to get some experience in Roughead at this time of the year. Not a big difference just yet between the 2, except that Jordan doesn't give away stupid free kicks, and he can take a mark in the forward 50.
Whats happening with Tim Callan? I saw him walking around with DFA at three quarter time and seemed to be walking ok, no sign of a knee? I also saw Picken hobbling on crutches which didnot look good.

Shocking game ruined by the wind, and rain in last quarter.
Saw Tutt go off injured at about the five minute stage and never came back on. Looked like an ankle or lower leg injury. Easton Wood was BOG for Willy by a mile. Dealt with the conditions and battled all day.
Wasn't a game for talls, although was impressed with Markovics' sweeping down back and in the ruck against bigger opponents.
Reserves: Only caught a glimpse of the last quater and a bit. Reid well underdone and so is Tiller for obvious reasons. Till smashed an opponent into the ground from a chasing tackle late in the last from memory near the entry gate. May have been a sign of frustration, but was rather comical as a Sandy bloke yelled out "got you covered" to the ballhandler, only to see till bust past him and smash his mate into the turf.
Both Till and Reidy look as though they need to drop a couple of kg's. Till in particular. Good to see them back though.
