All reports were pretty much as I saw it yesterday. You're right about Boumann GVGjr with his short kicks. He needs to be looking up the ground a bit further otherwise i thought he defended extremely well

      Great reports guys.

Is Hooper any chance at being elevated if he can hold his form/improve? Even if he doesn't get a lot of it, I ask because we have no small forward options on our list who can crumb/apply defensive pressure.

Thanks GVGjr and BJ for the reports.

Suprised you thought Jones lacked mobility, he normally moves very well for a 195cm lad. He can be deceiving with the short legs long body factor.

Anyone else think that Hooper and Markovic are wasted selections?

Hooper doesn't have enough tricks for a guy his size and Markovic is too slow for AFL.

I'd question where his improvement will come from because is isn't a traditional forward crumber but he could probably apply defensive pressure.

Thanks - not sure I will get to another Willi game.

Incidentally I was impressed with the run from Tom German - possibility for next years rookie pick?

and the 23rd man from I believe Western Jets - McHarg showed a bit with good pace.

Anyone think giving Tiller a run up forward could be a good option over the coming weeks, especially with Grant playing AFL?

I think he has some attributes that mean he could make a good fist of playing up forward.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Good possibility once he gets his fitness right.

Could Reid take on a similar role to Hahn?

Jones is quick for the first 10 to 15 metres. The only criticism I had was several times he was worked under the ball in the marking contest, however, he is still a kid and will add strength and experience in years to come. Very impressive at CHF in his 1st year of senior VFL.

Hooper is only 19 and will improve, kicked 3 goals, and has alot of upside. Personally, I think Markovic was a waste of a pick. He is too slow for VFL let alone AFL.

Re: Round 4 - Williamstown vs Port Melbourne

Markovic is the perfect mature rookie pick, as he'll only play if we suffer long term injuries to Lake and/or Williams. There were some suggestions that he was on the radar of other clubs late in the draft, so I guess we just wanted to lock him in.

I hate looking back in hindsight, but with our lack of running depth at the moment, Barlow would have been handy at that pick, wouldn't he?
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Even if he was slower than Ray Gabelich, I reckon he'd be getting a game in defence for the Hawks right now.

Robert Shaw was skathing on Tom murphy, "doesn't deserve the games" I agree , Markovic could probably get a game.

I wouldn't have him earmarked for a bullocking forward role. I see him as an in close midfielder who can win his own ball and apply strength around the contest.

Could he replace Cross? Yes he could.
