The answer is right in front of your nose, IMO
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

I thought we may have done that at some stage, but didn't. Even a run in the center might of been better then getting toweled up by Leon.

Harbrow should be given a turn in the middle or up forward as well. Agreed.

Callan must be nervous about Tutt's development, considering he was drafted as a BP IIRC.

          Cheers everyone for the reports.

He played there as a junior but I think the absolute best case scenario for Tutt is that he turns into a Leigh Montangna like player

When drafted it was hoped that he would develop into a 'Bateman' type.

Tutt is a beautiful kick and it's good to hear that he is improving. Hopefully he can push up into the seniors later in the season.

GVG or anyone else, can you see Rose being promoted this week?

So who would you put down back to take his place?

We struggle against quality small forwards, and we only have Gilbee and Harbrow in defence who can run and carry and Rocket doesn't seem to want to try Wood and persists with the same old players. Obviously drafting Howard and Tutt was to boost our stocks in this area but they aren't ready yet.

Hill doesn't do much for most parts of a game and Stack is clearly not good enough.
Gia has shown he is dead weight up forward at the moment and a poor choice for captain on the field.

Hooper and Rose are the only other small forwards we have, and most posters here think they aren't good enough for AFL.

Harbrow might be better than some but i don't think he is stronger when confident and running out of defence. He runs better in straight lines and know's how to pick the gaps in midfield zones. With his back to goal he has a habit of slipping over from turning around.
I'd rather Harbs got the ball 25 plus times out of the backline than 12 times up forward and 1-2 goals.

Tim Callan could do the job.

Except for the whole hitting targets and decent decision making with the football. I love the way Timmy goes about his football but he's a butcher with the ball in his hands and would give us one more guy for teams to "want" to get the ball in our back half.

I understand the whole idea behind moving Harbrow forward but he gives us so much out of the backline and is so dangerous. He also never really proved to have a crumber's instincts when he did play in a FP early on, granted he's a much better player now.

Did you see him play for Willi on the weekend?

I didn't, but have heard he was very good with his disposal and decision making, while Harbrow was poor in this area on the weekend IMO. Different quality opposition and pressure I know, but Callan did get BOG so he must be doing something right.

GVGjr how did you rate Callan and could you see him getting a recall?

Harbrow has never really been given extended time up forward to really get comfortable playing up forward either, a little bit like Lake, a spurt here or there, 5 minutes to try & unsettle the oppostion & back he goes.

Jarrod has improved in all areas of his game dramatically over the past 2 seasons, including reading the play extremely well, and i think that would make him so much more dangerous as that crumbing type forward.

Thanks for the reports on the games. So good to see that Callan Ward played well in the ressies. IMO, we are really missing his courage and strength around the centre bounces! Hurry back Callan......

He still has something to offer us and I wouldn't be against a recall if the right match-ups are there.
