When the Western Bulldogs play on a Sunday, they pick a squad of 23. Of that 23, 7 are named on the bench.

Williamstown, not knowing which 4 of those 7 the Western Bulldogs will name have to cover all bases & have always & will always name all 7 in their team.

When the Western Bulldogs settle on their 22 at 5pm this afternoon, Williamstown then make the necessary adjustments to their team.

Markovic playing 2's looks a poor refelection on our recruiting.... In theory it was good to look for some defensive back-up, but it seems that Markovic wasn't the player we should have selected.

Also disappointed to not see Prato selected (must be injured?) as the reports were that he was really coming on. If Roughy plays for the Dogs the ruck depth looks very thin.

I understand that but my point was, its a bit like naming Lake , surely he will be playing in the dogs side.

I agree he'll be playing in the Dogs side, but they name all 7. Always have.

Boumann will play seniors. Not named in ressies despite featuring on an extended bench.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

I understand that, but if he was pushing for senior selection (with WB) he should be an automatic selection in the Willi 1's when fit.

I guess not knowing the nature of his injury doesn't help, but as a 'mature' player he really shouldn't be in the Willi reserves.

Looks like Rose has gone backwards, Little would have been much better option.

Rose will start on the bench in the 1's.

The backline is tight for spots with Williams now in the side

I tend to agree, he was also a leader at Box Hill, and was recruited to be a back up player, he just has to play Willy seniors, unless he is out for a long period of time.

Markovick to the VFL seniors should be the same as Lake & Morris to the Bulldogs, if Lake or Morris have a few weeks off to injury, you wouldn't expect them to come back via Willy.

Ward missed half the season, so he played one game in the seconds before being elevated to the Willy seniors, so you'd expect that.
