If we had two quality KP forwards, what would you do with Minson while Hudson is in the ruck? It seems like Minson only spends about 35% TOG as a ruckman, how else would we be able to pick up his TOG slack?
TOG % for a ruckman aren't a strong consideration for me. It would just mean a player like Minson would spend 5 to 7 minutes a quarter up forward as one of the key forwards were given a spell. We don't have a versatile type capable of being a decent back-up ruckman and I think that's where our list is a bit imbalanced.

We do have a kid called Roughead who spends time in our forward line too.

I wouldn't say he is relevant considering the number of games he has played.

Rocco you have been banging on about this for some time. What do you actually want? I assume you are referring specifically to Everitt (however, if not, it makes no difference to the following). As you describe him as a part timer you clearly believe he will give us less in the ruck than Minson, so where are the gains? Is it because you see him as a better linkman? As a better forward? Would you use him at times on a HBF to give Gilbee or Morris a rest? Do they need any more rests? Would you expect him to take part in the mid-field runner rotations? Don't we achieve the same by sending Will forward and Gia/Higgins et al into the middle? With the exception of Hall, Lake, Williams, Morris, Hargrave, Hudson and Minson everybody else rotates through the mid-field already. How many more do you want?

I can see where a part timer reduces our rucking effectiveness, but I don't see where the gold nugget is hidden?

Sorry? I have Minson in our best 22 at the moment.

GVG asked me what we would do if had another KP forward of Hall's ability and I said I would play a part timer ahead of Minson.

Let me ask you what you would do? Are you part of the 1980s crew that thinks it's perfectly legit to have Minson only spend time in the ruck, meaning he has about 35-40% TOG? The days are long gone where you can plan to have a player can spend more than a half on the bench.

On the not having a decent part time option, it's a bit hard to see one when one doesn't get the opportunity.

Once again, I have Minson ahead of the part time option in my preferred 22 at the moment. I actually believe his forward line work has improved since he has gained fitness (before injury of course) and that I was too harsh/underestimating the affect of his disrupted pre-season. My belief is that you can't play two specialist ruckmen who offer you nothing elsewhere.
