Good to see Rose amongst the goals again and (finally) getting into some form - might be enough to see him retained if he finishes the year strongly.

Anyone have reports on the Bulldogs listed guys?
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

                  Re: Rd 16 - Werribee v Williamstown

                  I was there and saw the game in patches, here are a few small observations I made;
                  • Minson appears leaner, while he still has his size he doesn't look to be as 'heavy' as he was at the start of the year.
                  • Howard's foot skills were a highlight, he took the right options and he executed well.
                  • What you see is what you get with Tim Callan, I'm not sure if it's enough long term but it's certainly reassuring to have him there in case we suffer a few injuries but he appears to have now fallen behind Wood which is worrying for him.
                  • Hooper was mostly unsighted for the night, he didn't appear to have a major impact on the game.
                  • Boumann was strong in the air and dependable, however he continues to take the safe short options with his kicking, I'm not sure if he is operating under coaches instructions but hopefully it's something he can address and add to his game.
                  • Tutt clearly has good foot skills and hit some targets however I'm not sure he is ready for senior level just yet having said that he was better than the previous week.
                  • Addison didn't stand out for mine, nothing really to comment on his game.
                  • I thought Jamieson spreads well from a contest/stoppage and gets into some dangerous positions to receive the ball however he isn't overly damaging with his skills and can get caught. It's certainly an area of his game that he needs to continue to develop in order to make the grade but I think there is something there to work with.
                  • On Minson again, physically his strength is noticeable at this level and allows him to win his fair share of taps. It is positive that he can combine both the big spike with some accurate tapwork which is a real feature of his game.

These were a few things that stuck out in my mind from what I saw Saturday night.

Thankyou for the update Swoop. On Boumann, forgetting about his short kicks, one concern is his willingness to be in a contested situation. He seems to hang back then come from behind and go for the punch. Do you agree with this?

Nice report Swoop. I was in the middle of writing one up this morning when when the site went down.

I wouldn't mind a few dollars every time someone has made that comment about Boumann.
There is a lot to like about his ability and athleticism but the short safe option with his kicking needs to improve.

Not sure if you saw the reserves but Mulligan played mainly as a defender and took a ripping mark but his decision making with his kicking wasn't the greatest. He turned the ball over a fair bit.

Prato is still underdone with his fitness but has a great leap.
