Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

A positive end to the year for Tutty. I reckon he'll make a good Eagleton replacement in the coming years.

While Tutt kicked two important goals which helped turn the momentum in the third quarter I would not say he deserved to be in the best. He still has a long way to go in terms of development, obviously his kicking skills are elite but he needs to work on all other areas of his game as he struggles to impact games and has struggled to play a significant role in the senior opportunities he has had this year.

That's a big call, considering that he was named "the best" in the bests.

I didn't see the game but i'm assuming it was for a reason?

I only got there at half time but I thought Tutt was clearly Willi's best from what I saw.

Getting the ball at HB and taking 4 bounces and slotting it from 45 always looks good on the highlights tape.

Tutt has done this a few times during the season. I can recall two other great dashes and goals from him against Ballarat in the freezing cold and again against Frankston.

I agree with Sockeye that he has a long way to go but at times he does show a bit of class.

Are people forgetting he is an 18 year old kid out of a state with a very ordinary pathway program, steady on guys, there's no rush.

I don't think anyone is oblivious to that fact, and in fact quite the opposite is the case - they are aware of the amount of development he still requires to make it, and no one is expecting it to happen over night - but he does need to start showing improvement in those areas of deficiency.

I personally think he needs to be given a more accountable role, and forced to win his own ball more etc. It's all good and well getting fed easier touches and utilising his key assets being his speed and kicking skills - let's see him thrown in the deep end to work on his deficiencies - especially at VFL reserves level.

Whilst there is no rush, he's going to want to start showing improvement in a lot of areas over the pre-season and next year in the VFL to show that he is making the proper strides in the right direction.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I'm not sure how you could take my comment as a negative one against Tutt. I get to VFL games including the reserves to specifically watch the emerging players. I have a fair bit of patience with the younger guys on the list.
