Former Bulldog Nathan Eagleton to finish career in SANFL

Reece Homfray - The Advertiser - 2 November

FORMER Western Bulldog Nathan Eagleton has returned to Adelaide and will meet with SANFL clubs this week.

The former West Adelaide junior said he had two to three years of "decent footy" left in him and wanted to end his career in the state league.

"I'm pretty positive I want to play SANFL and I've been speaking to West Adelaide a bit,'' he said.

"Being at AFL level for so long and not playing in a granny (grand final), I feel I've got 2-3 years left of still playing decent footy and it would be good to win a flag.

May I be the first to say, a couple of years too late?
But best of luck to him, hope he win's one.

And in similar news, Scott Welsh (also West Adelaide) signed for Woodville West Torrens this year, (after shopping around) has retired after an injury ravaged season.

        I don't. I did this year, but I don't anymore.

If he was thinking of signing with Glenelg would this be different

                You're obviously easily pleased.

Perhaps the country air does that to you.

Gee that pic of Nathan would make a great avatar for you!

Probably(this part of the country is lovely) , but I didn't have very high expectations for him this year and he did play a few reasonable games.

Who was he keeping out of the side this year?

Where in the country are you, 'chef'? I was up at Provenance (Beechworth) and Simone's (Bright) recently, love the country fare -- some of our best work is out there, I reckon, with Annie Smithers and Bella Vedere etc. surpassing some of the more over-priced, wanky inner-city places (although I do miss Robin Wicken, and of course there are some great restaurants in the metro area too...)

Currently building a house on 2 acres a couple of KM's from Kyabram, but I run the kitchen of a Cafe/Deli in Echuca.

Seres would have to be the pick of the restaurants in Echuca for dining(mine for Breakfast or lunch). Oscar W's used to be good, the food's not what it used to be but it's still good just for the position of over looking the river.

My favourite country spot would have to be Teller in Mooroopna, amazing food in a horrible location.

It's a classic "long goal in junk time" celebration from Eagle.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

                              Not my call.

We knew what we were going to get deep into the year from Nathan (pretty much nothing)... What we would have got from others is something we will never know.
