Port Melbourne sign Wayde Skipper

Former bulldog and hawk Wayde Skipper has signed with vfl club Port Melbourne for next season.

Should be a good pickup for the Borough, as Skip was a consistently good ruckman for Williamstown when he was the 3rd choice ruck at the dogs.

Ruckmen don't usually get votes, and I think Port have a few ruck options in Fanning and Maclaren. Skip will probably also play a bit up forward i would imagine. At TEAC oval he could take a mark on the square and have a shot for goal with his nice left foot.

That two year contract he was rumoured to have been offered by an AFL club must have fallen through then. I'm rapt to have him at the Borough though.

I'd say so,

He could also have a clause that if he gets picked up by an AFL club in any of the upcoming AFL drafts that he would be free to go. Can't see him getting a 2 year deal though.
