    GVGjr and others

Do you think Cordy will debut soon?

Thanks Gary for taking the time to write up the game. Very much appreciated.

Dahlhaus must be narrowing for a rookie elevation.

Great to hear Djerrkura responded positively after not getting a call up for Moles.

What's the record for debutants in one season other than a start-up sude?

Howard makes 5 so far this season and Dalhaus, Cordy, Mulligan and Schofield are all realistic chances.

Still a way off as far as I'm concerned.

It might depend how we go in the next 3 or 4 weeks to see if he will be given a shot.

Dahlhaus has done little wrong and given we need to add speedy players to the list it makes sense that he will get an elevation before the end of the season.

Djerrkura made a few errors early and I thought he was in for a dirty day but he kept at it and got better as the game wore on.

                  Was at the game too, agree with most of what GVG said, but I'll try to add a few things;

                  - Hudson hurt his elbow in the second quarter; was filthy over it on the bench, but got it taped up and came back on

                  - DJ and Dollhouse should both play next week, both were terrific. Luke needs to learn to be more selfish and finish off his own good work

                  - Schofield and Tutt might be the same person

                  - Cordy was tremendous, especially up forward. Took a few strong marks, especially in the 3rd, which is when the game was won

Did you noticed Grant attitude after he marked the ball in the 4th quarter, 25m out, 45 degree, slight angle. He showed the ball into the face of his opponent ... and then missed the shot at goal ... I thought he should be better than that. I also noticed that some of his tackles during the games never stuck (he should be working on this more).

That's Grant for you. I've never been a fan of the laconic footballers especially when they can't back up their showboating. I know I bang on about goal kicking but he missed some very gettable shots today and it's more about his application to the task than a lack of skill.
I noticed that his tackling wasn't great as well.

He certainly has some issues with his goal kicking but I think his kicking isn't that powerful yet and that throws him off.

You do need to have a 2nd look to see if it's Schofield or Tutt.

Agree with your comment on Cordy, the game was in the balance and he held his marks and kicked accurately and boy did it make a difference.

Agree with this; the set shot he had wasn't overly convincing. He seems a good kick on the run though, and when he looked to pass off a few times in the 3rd, it really seemed to the team's detriment. As nice as it is to be unselfish, sometimes you just need to take the responsibility.

It's the only comment that can be made against him though; going to be some sort of player.

Very true, watched a lot of preseason training this year and I never got to the stage where I was confident of which was which

Thanks for the report. If Grant doesn't start working harder it's going to be a career cut short in the AFL
