Re: Williamstown vs Collingwood Round 16
probably a bit of a strong reaction to Hudson getting run off his feet by myself, but theres no way he can take those two. I had doubts about Hudson v Krezeur and Warnock were he did it marvelously, but that is another level up.
Either way, i'm glad to hear he did well. i guessing there was no one who went to the game to verify that other than a Collingwood fan or two
edit: he, aswell as Stack and Tutty are in sporting pulse's best

My sons under 18 team has his name in capitals as well, I'm sure it was just an error when first entered and now you don't re enter each name just click.
It sure makes him feel extra special when the best on ground list has his name in capitals though!

Re: Williamstown vs Collingwood Round 16
Seagulls too good in the Bush
Williamstown has continued its winning ways in beatingCollingwoodinfrontofa bigWangaratta crowdonSunday. The Seagulls were playing thelast of the regional games due to the redevelopment of Burbank Oval and it was a big Wangaratta crowd that appreciated the VFL spectacle.
Both sides fielded strong line-ups and Collingwood were desperate to prove they werea better side thenwhattheir ladder position suggests. The match saw Williamstown midfielder Ben Davies clock up 100 games for the Club and as such qualify for life membership. A great achievement by a wonderful servant of the Club.
Williamstown came out of the blocks the better of the two sides, winning the crucial midfield battle. 100 games Ben Davies was winning plenty of the ball early, racking up 11 firstquarter possessions. The work of Ben Jolley, Tom Liberatore and Brett Johnson allowed the Seagulls to get on top in the midfield and provide plenty of supply up forward for the likes of Patrick Veszpremi, Justin Shermanand Mitch Hahn. Collingwood managed to score their first major late in the term to bring the margin back to 21 points at the first break
It was a different Williamstown side who took the field in the second quarter as they allowed their opponents to gain control of the contest kicking 5 goals tonothing in the term. Poor decision making and inefficiency entering the forward 50 allowed Collingwood to work their way into the contest and hurt the Gulls on the scoreboard. The backline of Brett Goodes, Ayce Cordy andDane Rampe wereholding upwelldespite theconstant pressure as the Magpies took a 9 point lead into the main change.
With an upset brewing the third quarter was always going to be critical to the result of the game. The Gulls responded from half time words from the coach to come out firing in the premiership quarter. Will Minson and Jordan Roughead were gaining control in the ruck against Cameron Wood winning the hit-outs 49-34. An increase in tackling pressure was noticeable as the Seagulls lifted their intensity around the contest. Goals to Justin Sherman, Mitch Hahn and Brett Goodes helped the pseudo “home” side to 25 point lead at three quarter time.
With all to play for in the last quarter thefirstgoalofthequarter was goingtobecrucial and it was through Patrick Veszpremi that the game was put beyond doubt. Williamstown wasted a few more chances to make the margin greater, however a final margin of 32 points was enough to make the travellingSeagullshappy asthey headedback down the Hume highway.

Re: Williamstown vs Collingwood Round 16
From the a post on the Collingwood BF board
He is just the most frustrating for me, as i've seen a few games this year, mainly to see him, either on TV or at the ground, and it seems i've seen every game he has missed and none of them he has played.
[Cordy] really promising I thought
made plenty of contests and seems to have put a little (not heaps) of bulk since I last saw him play...
slowly but surely he is getting there.
don't know if he has done enough to get a call up to the AFL but I'd be surprised if he wasn't a regular next season.
nice fella tooComment

Re: Williamstown vs Collingwood Round 16
It was actually a St Kilda fan who happened to be there watching the game.
How come Panos is back in the 2s? I thought he did a good job against the bullants and was coming along nicely as both a back and forwardComment

Re: Williamstown vs Collingwood Round 16
It's been discussed on this board quite a bit, my opinion is he's a low priority player to us. Not sure whether that's because we're taking a long term view with him, or because we think all the other talls available are better players, either way he's the first to be moved out of position or dropped whenever other players are available.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment
