    Brad Crouch.

Any woofers have any info on this kid?

Seems we are going to make a big play at trying to get him.

All the talk is (rightly) about the Jaeger bomb but my favourite is Brad Crouch. Will become a very powerful midfielder, and a great kid too

      Re: Brad Crouch.

Just mentioned in another thread i played cricket breify with Brad, great athlete, pretty slim build at this stage but thats expected. Don't know how tall he is exactly but he will be a decent size midfielder..

He loved his cricket and could have easily had a very successfull cricket career.. So the fact he choose Footy must mean he really wants it!

        From the other thread.

Crouch is a potential A grader and a probable top 5 - 10 pick next year. He's better known as an inside midfielder, but he can play on the outside really well. His ball use is elite and he would compliment Libba and Wallis nicely. He played on the half back line in the U18 championships and was All Australian (and in the TAC cup), so he is versatile enough

He looks like a very good player, but I would be cautious. I'd like to see us negociate with GWS to give us an earlier pick, so we have a chance to nab a Talia type.

I honestly don't know enough about Crouch to really comment on him but all I hear is next years draft is a really good one.

What is the highest our compo pick can be next year? Are we giving up a potential 4th or 5th pick?

The highest would be pick 2, assuming we finish 18th & no one has a priority pick.

When Ward was officially announced as leaving Emma also tweeted he would be a very good replacement for Ward.

Report on the age website is that Adelaide will get pick 2 in the GWS mini-draft so that they can obtain Crouch.

I mentioned this on another thread, but is O'Meara's situation confirmed? There was talk that he wouldn't nominate this year so he can get to GWS next year through the national draft. In that case, Crouch will be pick 1 in the mini-draft, so Adelaide will miss out on him. GWS are trading picks for the mini-draft, not players.

He's already nominated. Can't back out now.

Since when have draft nominations not been able to be withdrawn by the player concerned?

ps. not having a go -- looks like O'Meara will be going to GC anyway, but I've always understood that you're able to withdraw your nomination at any time prior to a draft. The AFL aren't going to force a kid to stay in a draft he's changed his mind on.
