Re: Williamstown 2012
I'm a little surprised at the level of support for Bulldog listed players potentially playing in the reserves for Williamstown being seen as a good thing.
Over the last few years there has been a lot of focus and discussion on how players like Matt Little were blocking the development of the Bulldogs listed players so it's good read that competition is healthy.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Williamstown 2012
For me the difference is I have no issue with a young Bulldog player keeping another young Bulldog player out of his prefered position through good form, just as I have no issue with a Bulldog player being dropped to Willi reserves to promote another young player who's done well. That sort of competition is healthy.I'm a little surprised at the level of support for Bulldog listed players potentially playing in the reserves for Williamstown being seen as a good thing.

I do have an issue however with young Bulldog players, in particular key position players, being kept out of the seniors by mature non-listed players who are good state level players but who will never be anything more.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Williamstown 2012
Willi is a football club in it's own right, not a Bulldogs feeder team. They are there to win premierships and if a state league player gives them the best chance to do this they are perfectly right to select the state league player. For me the difference is I have no issue with a young Bulldog player keeping another young Bulldog player out of his prefered position through good form, just as I have no issue with a Bulldog player being dropped to Willi reserves to promote another young player who's done well. Re: Williamstown 2012
Agree. I don't see it as a bad thing providing we make the hard decisions on our own players as well.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

I'm aware of that. Their state league players have hardly taken them to glory however, they have recently been the players that have let them down most in finals.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Williamstown 2012
I agree with what you are saying but the output by the Bulldog listed players left a lot to be desired in the GF.
The alliance with Williamstown is as good as we can hope for so we have to make it work and just acknowledge that from time to time the likes of a Matthew Panos will play at CHB rather than at FF.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Williamstown 2012
I see on the Willy website that German looks to have signed a three year deal - 2012-2014 and it appears to the inexpert eye that many of the other coaching positions around him look to have been filled with new peopleComment

Re: Williamstown 2012
Just went for a ride down to Williamstown today, rode past Burbank oval too. When is the ground going to be used? From what I can see theres redevelopment on the stand, and new cricket nets but but not much else, assuming it won't be ready this year so Willy will be at Werribee's ground again?Comment
