    Attention: Adelaide Folk

I have a question regarding the standard of the South Australian Amateur Comp specifically the 1st division.

Is it a good standard and if so where does it sit in the pecking order over in Adelaide?

Could you compare it to a competition in Melbourne? A massive ask unless you have lived in both cities I know.

I have a mate coming back from playing in it and he wants to bring a mate. I am coaching this year and kind of need something to go off when I make an offer.

Very much as an outsider, it dies rate highly in Adelaide, would be ranked second in standard
    after the sanfl

(By a fair way). My impression, at the top level, it is very well run and very competitive, with a reasonable.amount of coin involved at some clubs. Can I ask which club?

I thought it was an amateur competition. Or at least officially.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Thanks for the feedback. PHOS Camden is the club. I know the players coming are quality (relatively speaking) just trying to get a handle on the standard. I did assume it would be the ranked next behind the SANFL.

Ammo's is meant to be no money in Melbourne as well. Everyone knows that isn't true though.

I played Ammos in the early 80s and coaches were starting to get paid and we knew other clubs were paying some players and this was E grade.
I have no doubt all players will be getting something now.

I know a few people down there, is also a feeder club for Glenelg as well. Has a name for itself as a good footy club.

It is a football competition made up of clubs with really strange names eg

                PHOS Camden
                SMOSH
                Henley Greek
                Gaza
                Old Ignatians
                Brahma Lodge
                Kenilworth

and I haven't made these up.
