Can I ask a hypothetical question, if a player of high quality didn't want to go to GWS because of all their picks and wanted to stay in Melbourne how would he get to a Melbourne club. Say if he doesn't nominate for the draft is he left in limbo. Lets say this player is a top 5 pick, does he have any options.

As a first year player you have to nominate for the draft to get onto a playing list.
Very difficult to trick the system.

He is under no obligation to nominate, but if he doesn't nominate he can't get drafted.

All he can do is suck it up for a year then ask for a trade.

Hip problems... It's the reason why he didn't play much in early 2011.
