That said, we have so many holes in our list that we need almost everything and it seems none of the KPs are rated at all, so with pick 17 we need pace.
There are a few advantages for us if we hold our nerve and add running players this year

    - Next year the draft is deeper for key position players and it's a stronger draft overall
    - Our selection will be from a vastly better position ie not at 17.
    - We will have an additional pick

I see no sense this year in 'reaching' for a KPP with our first pick this year. This year we can add some running depth and I think it's the right way to go.

Are you sure about this? I'm not, well not yet anyway.

I'd still like us to take a tall defender sometime after the 1st round, preferably in the 2nd round. I agree we shouldn't reach for one in the 1st round though.

That depends - how many more start-up franchises with more cash than sense do we expect the AFL to bankroll in coming years?

I'm hoping for a quick line-breaker, someone with a little X factor. Inside mids are easier to find and talls are always a gamble (our best young tall was a second round pick, and our best tall taken at 71).

Emma has also listed her top 30 picks this year and has also linked us to Hayden Crozier but it's quite a contrast to the one on AFL.com

I cant see B Mac wanting a 68kg player in Crozier who comes in and out of games and lacks some intensity by some reports.

Mark Stevens seems dead certain we will go for an inside midfielder. Apparently were hoping for Devon Smith or Taylor Adams to fall through. I really hope we don't get Clay Smith.

I tend to agree, any chance Adams will fall to us?

^ Isn't Docherty more of a rebounding defender or have I confused him with someone else?

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I see his point. Build the nucleus, make it tough and hard, then add the flair to that. Nobody is suggesting that McCartney is going to recruit our flag-winning team tonight.

As I started prior to this been reported, Crozier will not be picked up if B Mac has anything to do with it.

Do you know why Desi? Is it a character issue or the type of player he is?
