Not sure that I'm too excited about another tough inside midfielder who is slow and a dodgy kick.
    Is this our eternal destiny?

      Just some observations.

Interesting that they has us passing over Crozier and Kavanagh. There was some speculation that we were only lukewarm with Crozier but I would have thought that we would have been very interested in Kavanagh although he is regarded as a difficult one.

The Hun has Jordan Murdoch potentially going in the 20's and the Age also has him linked to a few sides. We won't have any interest in him with our first pick and it sounds like he will be long gone before our 2nd.

Seb Ross, Sam Frost and Mitch Grigg don't rate a mention in the top 30 for the Hun.

We obviously rate stoppages and tackling higher than pace and effective kicking.

I hope she's right. At least Crozier can run and kick.

I can't believe we wouldn't jump for joy if either of those two were available...Why would we be lukewarm on Crozier? He might be inconsistent, but he is also nearly a 2012 draftee - still not 18. The reporters are generally pretty good at talking to scouts and reading the play - I am not feeling this. Clay Smith at 17 seems a big reach to me.

Interesting that they have Brisbane taking Devon Smith at 8 with Longer still on the board...don't Brisbane need another ruckman even more than we do? I would think if Longer is there, the Lions take him?
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I don't think I saw a reason why we weren't supposedly that keen on Crozier but there was some speculation that he would slide past us. I think both he and Kavanagh would be excellent selections for us and as you pointed out, Crozier is in still not yet 18.
Maybe the knock on him is that he isn't a high possession winner but I see some Robert Murphy qualities about him and he doesn't need to be a 25 possession a game type player to have a real positive influence in a game.

I would have thought our main aim with our first pick was to acquire some real leg speed so being linked to Clay Smith by two papers at pick 17 is a little surprising to me.

Hearing what sort of player Smith is, a tad miffed on why we're chasing a player similar to the other inside mids we have. With a big doubt on Cooney would have thought we'd be looking for some run and carry.

Surely the ability to kick the ball - given it is their living, and a big weakness of ours - must be a requirement.

If we want bigger bodies, there's better options than Clay.

I would be happy with Ellis, Crozier or Kavanagh.
