Happy to read about Cordy, and also happy about JJ - is he on track to earn a call up this year at current levels of imporvement? A small zippy Harbrowish type. We need one.

Seagulls storm home to claim first win

Williamstown have responded strongly to last
weekend's narrow loss to Casey with a come-from-behind victory over a strong
Northern Blues outfit in windy conditions at Visy Park
      on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors overturned a 23 point at deficit at
three quarter time, to eventually come out with a gutsy 14 point victory.

Things seemed bleak for the Seagulls, who had
been overrun by the speedy Blues in the third quarter after leading for much of
the game. Many of the errors evident in the Blues game over the first half of
the game, including their disposal efficiency, defensive pressure and their
inaccuracy in front of goal were eradicated, as they kicked 5 unanswered goals
and looked like they would continue to kick away.

With summer departures, a heartbreaking defeat
last week, and with a hefty deficit to overcome, it appeared that the Seagulls
best footy may be behind them, but ironically Williamstown would conversely do
to the Blues what had been done to them the previous quarter, kicking 6
unanswered goals and eventually prevailing: 12.12 (84) to 9.16. (70) winners.

Ruckman Ayce Cordy was a key figure in the win,
asserting himself on every contest in his vicinity and booted 4 invaluable
      goals.

Small forward Andrew Hooper was also influential
kicking 3, Nathan Djerrkura impressed with his gut-busting running, Jamie
McNamara disposed of the ball with aplomb despite taking a second quarter
knock, and key defender Fletcher Roberts was a behemoth in the final quarter in
particular, swatting the ball away from every marking contest.

Senior Assistant Coach Andrew Mirams admitted
that the playing group failed to execute the match strategy that the coaches
had wanted to implement during the third quarter and weren't helped by some bad
luck in search of the contested ball:

"There was a lot of things we probably practiced
that weren't quite going right and unfortunately we didn't adjust that well, on
the field and around, just those little 50-50's didn't seem to go our
      way."

Ultimately however, Mirams hailed the squads character in their atonement, stating that
they chose not to give in when they could have easily fallen over:

      "They had a choice at three quarter time;
they could have either (you know), let the game get away from them or they
could have screwed up their courage, which is what they did, and they managed
to get a really hard fought win."

When asked what was applied in the final quarter
and what had been missing the previous quarter, Mirams claimed the movement of
Goodes and Stephen Witkowski up forward was pivotal, but also credited the
midfielders ability to win the ball at the stoppages and the forwards ability
to hold the ball in their forward 50 as crucial components in the comeback.

The victory sees Williamstown sitting in 6th
position on the ladder, ahead of the big Easter Sunday clash against Geelong at Torquay next
      week

      Best: Cordy, Jolley, Campbell, Djerrkura,
      Roberts, McNamara, Hooper, Goodes, Witkowski.

Goals: Cordy 4, Hooper 3, Witkowski 2, Gilbee,
      Goodes, Campbell.

No he isn't like Harbrow but with a of luck with injuries he might have a good enough season to earn a promotion. He's certainly got pace and he is a nice kick and I think he just needs to gain some more confidence.

Cheers, if he's not like Harbrow how has he been playing this year? More an outside wide running role?

Obviously a few of us on Woof will be interested in anyone on our list who seems to have genuine pace

Certainly more of an outside player and yes he has plenty of pace.
