Re: Round #7 Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
Anyone able to post a short summary about how the Dogs listed players went - based on the updates not expecting too many positives - but nevertheless it would be much appreciated.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

Re: Round #7 Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
Mulligan wouldn't get a game for a suburban club's seniors.
He's pathetic.
Dickson did well to score 3, might be a chance for a recall. From the limited I saw, Roberts did OK in the conditions and against strong opponents.W00F!Comment

Re: Round #7 Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
Not a lot of positives to come out of the game. Willy comprehensibly beaten by a strong Port Melbourne. Willy just couldn't adapt to wet weather footy, were second the ball and just could not get into the game. My take in individuals
Redpath/Panos- non factor would have been lucky to touch the ball and that is not over exaggerating.
Campbell- won the majority of hit outs and was one of the better performers. Didn't get a lot of the ball around the ground but this game wasn't for the big fellas.
Roberts- Thought he played ok and generally defended well. Does tend to contest from behind but has a knack of getting a hand in when its not expected.
Pearce- probably BOG for willy played a solid rebound game from defence. Clean hands and didn't look overwhelmed when others did.
Moles- not good at all, turned the ball over to easily and really struggled to get in the game.
Tutt- another that really struggled, was very disappointed with his performance.
Talia- really tries hard, his opponent had the better of him but wasn't disgraced.
Hooper- started ok by do nothing after the first quarter. Won't be on our list next year.
Mulligan- Terrible bout as constructive as I can be.
Smith- tough as, conditions suited him but that being said he didn't have a great game. Was still probably one of Willys bests.
Dickson- pretty much kicked the teams score, tried hard all day and generally works pretty hard. Would like to see him get a chance at afl level again soon.
Lin Jong- struggled but tried pretty hard. His awareness isn't great and got belted a couple of times because of it."Loves a scrap....oh yeah & he's a pretty handy footballer as well"Comment

I get that feeling about Jong too. He doesn't seem to notice and/or care about being in harm's way. I like it but hope he doesn't get smashed to bits!Comment

Re: Round #7 Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
Really hard to get excited about today's effort as there was very few positives.
I agree with a lot of what Slim has written. The forward lines except for Dickson was poor and Redpath once again failed to impress. A lot of players are really a few steps away from being options to get games for the Bulldogs. Campbell contested well but he isn't great with his hit outs.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Round #7 Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
This looks to have been a hail mary selection that will be over after one season. I can absolutely see the merit in the Jong, Campbell and Austin rookie selections (haven't seen Greenwood so can't comment), but surely we would have been better served giving Barlow another year on the rookie list instead of plucking someone from the bush with two knee recos and buckley's chance of making it. Rookie selections aren't so worthless as to use them on such futile projects."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: Round #7 Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
Thank you for the write up Slim.
Is Panos' form this year starting to become a concern? I was one of a few who were hopeful he'd play a bit of AFL this year but it seems a fair way off at the moment.
Did Skinner not play?Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment
