Only caught the last 10 mins or so of that second quarter, but I like the look of Roberts.

Yep, nice build for a young kid and competes well one on one. Already substantially ahead of Mulligan as far as I'm concerned.

Redpath involved in 2 nice pieces of play. Very neat kick from around 45m for a goal and then he set up Hooper into space a minute or so after.

Redpath on the lead and kicks another! Beautiful kick for goal!

Mulligan has to be one of the worst players to play AFL/VFL in the history of the game.

Just as I go to post this, his opponent marks the ball and kicks a goal
Last edited by The Bulldogs Bite; 02-06-2012, 03:09 PM. Reason: Mulligan was in space and handpassed to a player with an opponent standing RIGHT next to them. Unbelievable!!!

Bit of a last gap come back from Willi but in the end a terrible 2nd and 3rd killed any chance of winning.

                  Watched most of the game:

                  * Talia on Gumbleton in the first was a mismatch, Gumbleton kicked a few. Roberts switched on him and he didn't touch the ball after that. Talia also played a bit better after that.

                  * Hooper played in the back pocket in the first half and was ok. Moved forward and created some goals, but faded out of the game.

                  * Gilbee - long way off, probably only touched the ball 10 times.

                  * Moles, got better as the game went on, picked up 30 disposals and kicked a beautiful long goal. Good at this level but I couldn't see him ever playing AFL again.

                  * Sherman, was ok, seemed to be better when he handballed rather than when he kicked.

                  * Jones was lively up forward, lots of marks but has no confidence in kicking at goal.

                  * Redpath - didn't touch the ball in the firest half, but after half time, went to Full fowrd and kicked 4, should hgav e had a couple more. He is a big unit, and kicks the ball long.

                  * Jong - flashed in and out of the game.

                  * Smith - very good game, got lots of the ball and used it well. Gave away a few free kicks but only because he goes so hard. Also kicked a couple.

                  * Hill - beaten by Hille early on but battled on after that.

                  * Panos - Kicked a few in the first half then moved to the backline to plug a hole.

Not sure if I missed anyone. Oh yes Mulligan, enough said

                        Re: Round 10 Williamstown Team

Redpath - unsighted in the first half, had a huge impact in the 2nd half. Kicked 4.1, took some strong marks, led well, and impacted the contest. The first game I've thought he has a bit of something, he's also a beautiful kick

Roberts- Liked his game on Gumbleton, he kicked 3 early but Roberts was moved on to him and won the battle. Competes well in the air and has a Body you can really build on.

Jong- pretty quiet, not one of his better games.

Panos- Started well up forward with a couple of goals, then was moved to defence, and also played in the ruck. I thought he was good in each area of the ground and was impressed in particular with his effort in the ruck.

Moles- Strong last quarter but looked disinterested early, seems from the outside to have lost the hunger for footy.

Gilbee- Terrible would be generous. I think he might finish the season in Williamstown's reserves.

Smith- crashed in, won a fair bit of the footy, kicked a couple, but butchered it a bit at times. Would be pushing for promotion based on today.

                          Re: Round 10 Williamstown Team

                          Mulligan- is Mulligan

Hooper- started in defence then went forward, created a couple of goals, but not a big impact.

Talia- Struggled today, Gumbleton killed him early, and as mentioned by others didn't work hard enough defensively, also ran away from the contest a couple of times when Bendigo took a contested mark to show it wasn't his man, which I didn't like.

Jones- frustrating day for Jones, took some great marks, but didn't convert them, also his field kicking was really poor which let down some of his good work.

Howard- was OK, used the ball well at times but is very very one sided.

Sherman - didn't do enough to warrant promotion

Hill- was lively early but dried out of it as the day went on, played mostly in the ruck and competed fairly well

Of course sorry. I looked at the Williamstown team and they were listed in the team at the start of this thread.

Forgot about Howard. I thought he did some good things early on but seem to fade out in the last. The scoreboard flattered Willi as they were about 40 points down and Bendigo tired in the last with only two on the bench and a few players with sores and bruises on the ground.
