    Re: Round 10 Williamstown Team

Watched the replay today. My two bobs worth is that no player really stood out as head and shoulders above this level at present however a few points...

Jong has very quick hands but I would like to see him take things on a bit more.

Howard looks a bit quicker than I recall and is a nice short kick. Long kicking is poor though.

Moles is a strange one. Looks beautifully balanced and nice skills but finds a way to butcher it still.

Talia is uber defensive. Would like him to back himself more.

Jones is really still just a long legged colt. Needs time to add strength and power to help in contests.

Hooper, when he is involved things seem to happen but doesn't get enough of it.

Gilbee was quiet as was Sherman in terms of overall impact.

Love Smith as he is attacking and creative. Skills seemed ok today too.

Best game I have seen Mulligan play but he is still not great.

Roberts has really got bigger it seems. He looks very calm and did leave me feeling he might be ok.

I know that Smith need to build his endurance but surly he can run out 1/2 a game.
How would playing another hard at it mid who can't kick improved our performance?

Well let's turn it into a game of Rugby. Carry the bloody thing down the field.
Boy, don't we have a conga line of hard mid's with disposal that puts your heart in your mouth?

Couldn't do any worse than Higgins or Gia

Honestly the first 3 touches Higgins had were turnovers, he was absolute poo in that game.

Smith is going to be a monster after 2-3 years playing with men and weight training

He is already monstering men at VFL level

If we compared his skills at 18 to say Boyd's (who was playing reserves at Frankston) he would be ahead i'd imagine

Someone like Cross could also teach Smith to play within his skill limitations

If Smith is willing to learn and improve his skills he could become one of our most important players in the coming seasons IMO

Is there any hope for that ball drop of his? Anyone with some coaching experience on here who might care to give their two cents on his kicking and if it can be improved?

Gilbee should take him under his wing and teach him how to drill a ball.

I have just finished watching the replay and what are peoples thoughts on Kyle Reimers. He seems to be out of favor with Hird at the moment and I don't know what his contract details are but could he fill a role at the dogs.

Bmac would know all about him too so that may help. Can play and has nice skills. Questions on character at all?

                      Reminds me of Sherman.

I've seen him play quite a bit. His good is quite good, he has pace, and is actually a very nice set shot at goal. Consistency seems to be his major problem, when he gets on a role he can have quite an impact, but then he'll go several games where he's barely sighted.

Personally I'm not sure I'd have a look at him, but if we felt he could offer something then we should get him for nothing, whether that be a trade for a nominal draft pick we weren't intending to use, or as our last pick in the draft. I'm not sure he holds any currency at Essendon.

He may fail McCartney's "quality person" rule, but I don't know him personally so I wouldn't factor that into calculations yet.
