Faz Ray does it again - VFL Sandy vs Casey

Casey vs Sandy, Ray's team a few points down and he has a running shot from 50 with 1 second to go for the win and would you believe he misses and his side loses. Ray missing a running goal from 50 without overt presssure, well i never....

I like Liam Jones even more {if that's possible} when i think of all the butchering from 50 on the run that he does.

    Such a wasted potential talent.

Great game though; i'm sick and lied up, the dogs choke - so changed the channel to a decent football match and it gives me time to reflect on players past.

    Again?

When has Farren missed a game winning shot at goal?

It's only again if he tried to kick it with his left for no apparant reason.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

I just don't get the fascination with bagging Farren Ray. It's not like he's a dickhead that deserved ridicule for it, he was just a victim of being an ok player that went pretty high in a weak-ish draft.

He frustrated me as a player for his obvious deficiencies, but I never had a problem with his efforts. Just a young guy who thought his opportunities might be better elsewhere, and it nearly paid off.

Wasn't there talk of him being traded back to us last season?

His speed and run and carry is something that would be useful but his foot skills and decision making wouldn't

Like we need another player to kick it sideways in the backline?
We have Addison to do that already.

I saw the replay this morning . 50mtrs out and against a strong wind and with zero time on the clock. Ray actually did a good effort.

I still think we wasted a number 4 pick on him.

Did we? Shallow, very shallow draft.
More of an In Bruges guy?

Iy wasn't a great draft I admit. But.......

David Mundy at !9 was what we were crying out for. (we actually traded that pick for Koops.)

Other than that though, you're right.

                              A very weak draft.
                              7. Kane Tenace
                              11. Beau Waters
                              13. Brent Stanton
                              15. Troy Chaplin
                              33. Jed Adcock
                              44. Ricky Dyson.

                              They're the standouts.

Can't be bothered listing the rest

Pretty underwhelming year, still, think you'd expect more out of a number 4 pick.
Would have killed to have Mundy over Fazza
