Re: Round 14- Williamstown vs North Ballarat

Grant- Very poor, looked disinterested and made no effort to impose himself on the game. He's going backwards at a dramatic rate.

Vez- Pretty quiet, posted mostly up forward but didn't do much.

Williams- Played in defence and looked pretty rusty, needs a few more weeks

Tutt- Played across half forward and through the middle, kicked 3 goals, competed and tackled well, should be in calculations for a senior game this week.

Roberts- Liked his game, spoiled when he needed to and also took the mark when in position to. Looked quite assured in defence and is developing well, would be quite some way in front of Talia at the moment.

Pearce- Didn't see much of him.

Skinner- Played in the ruck and some time up forward. Competed pretty well in the ruck and handled the ball in the wet quite well a couple of times, but still didn't do enough for me.

Talia- Competed well and did his job defensively, but doesn't provide much offensively at this stage.

DJ- Tried hard and got involved, but fumbled continuously which undid much of his good work

JJ- Provided some run and did some nice things but overall was pretty quiet.

    Moles- Quiet and no impact

Panos- Thought he was good on a difficult day for tall forwards, lead up well, competed hard when the ball was in dispute and finished with 2 goals. Should get a call up IMO

No Gilbee, Hill, or Hooper today

      Thanks Greystache.

Makes you wonder if there is more than meets the eye with Grant, I wonder if he is carrying something or OP.

I would like to see both Tutt and Panos given a run.

It's no secret I am a fan of Grant, but it's disappointing he's disinterested. I feel that there's something wrong with this situation. I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved on at the year's end, which I would hate. I could see him becoming a good player at a better club.

On Panos; he has played some solid footy at both ends of the ground now, but we seem to be hell bent on playing Cordy and Roughead as key forwards. I just can't see us giving Panos a strong opportunity to mount his case in the seniors for 4 or 5 weeks because of that.

Its annoying if he does because if like you said The Bulldogs Bite he goes to another club he will probably became a better player. Other ones Everitt at Sydney and Hill is looking like being a handy player for West Coast who are doing really well.

Don't know why people are saying Everitt's done well in Sydney?
He's been in and out of the side for two seasons.
Hill is going well granted, but let's wait till Josh plays finals before we make a definitive call!!

Has Everitt been better at Sydney compared to when he was with us. Do you think in the bigger picture that it was good to trade away Everitt.

Either way, with the Eagles forward line decimated with key injuries, Josh will have made a very decent contribution to the Eagles making the Top 4. His kicking has been wayward but he has presented extremely well and has worked well with Darling to fill the void left by Le Cras, Nicoski and Kennedy.

Hehe, yes very true, we've all seen him star when the side is flying and others are doing the hard work for him and against sides like the GC, he was always going to do that wasn't he.

I think even Hooper would star at the West Coast. he'd get his 3 over the top handball goals a week and people will think he's a legend. Josh Hill is not much different in my opinion, he has some football smarts but he's also got liabilities that show up in teams that are struggling and require unconditional efforts from everyone.

                      Thanks for the info mate.

Some good signs with Tutt and Panos but awful signs for Grant and the rest of our list. If we were living on what is in the cupboard we would starve right now.

                      Would they rush Williams back?

I'd like Panos and Tutt in as well.

We are far too heavy with ruckmen, and ruckmen sized forwards.

At subi we need run and a bit more mobility.
I'd like to see Jones and Panos up forward, i think this is a good combination, also only 2 max of Minson, Campbell, Roughead or Cordy, and none of them to be a sub for crying out loud!

Did Grant play mainly up forward?

I think it might be time to play him across half back.

Many thanks for the write up Greystache, some positive and some not so good.

Really keen to see Tutt and Panos get a run in the seniors sooner rather than later. Wouldn't mind seeing Roberts get a run later too if his form holds. He seems to have had a good first year so far.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
